"Non-Fishing" fishing Gear?

Gerber folder, needle nose, mini bolt cutters ( actually used them last year twice)

Most things that are non-fishing related are just in case/hope I never need em items

- first aid kit -- has come in handy more times than I care to admit

- extra pair of clothes -- especially this time of year, the difference between getting wet and cold and staying wet and cold can be life or death if you get dunked in the winter!

- 9mm Sig Sauer -- to fight pirates with

I have to agree with everything previously mentioned and say a cellphone. I kinda think this is a pretty invaluable tool due to its ability to summon help if needed on or off the water, mine has tidal and wind apps and being able to take pictures of your fish. Scale, orange boating flag, and a throw cushion as well.

My bank fishing tackle bag is half fishing, half “bug out” bag. I got everything I need in case I get lost in the woods. Food, emergency blanket, multitool, pepper spray, sunscreen, bug repellent, whistle, flashlight, fire starter, first aid kit, etc.

 

Chance of me getting lost in the woods, 0% I fish most of the time 10 feet off of a very visible walking trail ?

comes in very handing if & when I need to "Repel all Boarders !"

I carry a Gerber for the same purposes.

Here are some things I didn't see mentioned.

 

Superglue.  I glue my Neds and finesse swimbaits.  While I have a bunch prepared, every once in a while I need to glue something on the boat.

 

Rechargeable battery for my phone.  I use this every time I go out.  Extra headphones in case I forgot mine.  I listen to podcasts and music for most of the day when I fish so I usually run my phone down over the course of a day.

 

Empty coffee container and wetwipes.  While it's mandotory for a #2, it is nice if you are around people and need to pee.  Sitting at the console peeing in a container is much better than going over the side.
