I removed split rings and hooks and use #5 Gama Hyper wire split ring with Fusion 19 red hooks for front and owner stinger for back hook. At the end I deemed the tails in chartreuse JJ's magic.

Going to use it tomorrow and hopping for big LMB and striper.IMG_1486.thumb.JPG.a703d24376ce9dd499fc30e1ce7699b1.JPGIMG_1488.JPG.4edf1f8abc8adef7b808d818cadbf657.JPGIMG_1489.thumb.JPG.37500be5e0a052929cafa68bf60a4c49.JPG

This is finished product;

I tried that lure. I had better luck modifying it by tying on a spinnerbait. LOL

I don't catch very many fish on swimbaits, but the ones I do catch are always good fish

My confidence in catching fish on them is about 0.003% so I haven't given them a fair shot. I will admit that.

Hmmm, long time ago I use to modify my swimbaits, i.e. painted the gills on my Hudds red. Added red hooks to my wake and glide baits. Far as I can tell, it made no difference in my catch ratio.

About Red and making difference I dont know, But the original hooks and split rings are very very weak, I am sure over average fish can bend that hook or destroy that split rings on S-Waver.

You know those aren't real trout, and you can't use them for almondine, right? Love the 70s kitchen.

It’s still fun to do though!

I use JJ's a lot. I think it makes a difference in the off colored muddy waters I fish.

I like the idea about dipping swimbait tails. I might try that on a 168.

Get a Dremel with a grinding wheel out and open the gap up in the joint so the tail can move wider side to side. I did that with mine when I had one and it made it work much better.
