I watched a few videos when they first came out, and I got burned out on that real quick. I should say that I am not talking about all fishing videos. I've watched a ton of videos that were informative. Glenn's videos are always good. I've watched Flukemaster, and a few others that have taught me a lot. I'm not anti-cell phone, I just see people watching life through a lens rather than actually living life in the moment. I think it's just a another aspect of growing older. Wanting to live life in the here and now. Quote
Gera Posted April 25, 2022 Posted April 25, 2022 I'm impress how much you can learn about the people in this website from a question like this. Quote

Diawa has held up the best straight out of the box so far with no problems to report and I plan on giving shimano a chance soon too. I own and use Shimano, Abu, Pfleuger, and Shakespeare reels. I've never had one break ever. 1 Quote
NavyVet1204 Posted April 25, 2022 Posted April 25, 2022 The side plate on the Abu kept coming off mid cast and I returned it. The Lews I still have because it technically works but the side plate on it doesn’t seat all the way when closed and there’s an annoying little gap in it. Quote
Super User king fisher Posted April 25, 2022 Super User Posted April 25, 2022 My job, house work, yard work, birthday parties, graduations, weddings, any other social obligation not listed, injuries, surgeries, pandemics, world famine, nuclear war, or any other darn thing, that keeps me from going bass fishing, when the bite is on. 1 Quote
fin Posted April 25, 2022 Posted April 25, 2022 I found a Googan Squad lure, the first one I ever found. I’ve never bought anything of theirs because there’s something I just don’t like about GS. I’ve never watched more than a few minutes of one of their videos, but I’ve heard lots of people hate them because of their videos. Academy moved a lot of the Zoom products out of the way to give the GS products more prominent shelf space. Their stuff seems more expensive, and I think that led to other brands raising their prices. Those are the only reasons I can think of for not wanting to use their products. This lure is the first thing of theirs I’ve ever had. It’s a crawfish squarebill, and the paint job is alright. It’s similar to other lures I’m having luck with right now, but I won’t throw it. I don’t exactly know why. It’s like I feel I’ll be cursed if I use it or something. That is a bias. Quote

I know they make some lower quality stuff from China nowadays. I haven't heard much bad about the ones still made in Sweden or the vintage reels. 1 Quote
