Super User NorcalBassin Posted February 1, 2022 Super User Posted February 1, 2022 I have a few MB rods and really like the craftsmanship and the way they fish. However, their warranty leaves a lot to be desired and led me to spend the bulk of my rod budget on NRX's since I know if a coangler or I step on it in 10 years I can get it replaced almost immediately for a modest price whereas if that happens with one of my MB Destroyers after 3 years and 1 day I'm out of luck (also years 1-3 is 40% the retail cost to replace). 1 Quote
Doo Posted February 1, 2022 Posted February 1, 2022 I got the Orochi XX DSR a few months ago and love it. I use it for a lot of my moving baits. The craftsmanship is well above par and a solid stick. Quote

I couldn't grip it comfortably with the short trigger. It would dig into my finger and when i set the hook i felt like I didn't have as much control. If it had a better trigger i would have added more of the P5 series to my lineup. I do have the Landsat and Baby Plugging, which i like. The handle took a little bit of getting use too but now i like it. I hope Megabass comes out with more spinning models. I'm considering the 'baby pluggin' for cranks under 1/4oz. I never thought I'd want a spinning rod for cranks, but I have some ultralight crankbaits that would push the limits of any bfs setup. What are you using your baby pluggin' for? Quote
yellowcard129 Posted February 1, 2022 Posted February 1, 2022 I'll throw my 2 cents in here. Ive owned most high end rods from loomis nrx, conquests, posion adrenas, exprides, tatula elite ags. Last year I bought a Super Destroyer P5 and the entire line up is absolutely my favorite rods of all time. They are truly a work of art. I now also own the Madbull and X-bites. The sensitivity is right on par with my NRX. Each rod is just perfectly made, from the wraps to the carbon grip, its so crisp and clean. They are literally the only rods I want to fish with now. Theres a video on YouTube from the Hook Up Tackle where he goes over a bunch of the p5 rods and what the best techniques are for them. I absolutely love my X-bites for 1/4- 1/2 jigs but the SD and Madbull are the best reaction bait rods ever made in my opinion. I use the Super Destroyer the most which is good for many applications. I caught thousands of smallmouth on it last season up to 7 pounds and also caught a 48" Muskie on it from a small river where I had to move the fish away from heavy cover, rod was completely bent in half but handled em like a dream. ?♂️ 1 Quote

I mostly fish smallmouth/rivers and been looking for that one special rod. Lowest weight stuff could be 1/16 oz. jig with plastic and higher end is 3/4 oz. jerk bait, 1/2 oz. spinnerbait or buzzbait. Not crazy about the price but if it can do all that..... Also, dang those are some chunks! Quote
