Ctjoe Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 Looking to purchase A spare spinning reel. Looking at both of these reels in a 30 series Maybe 25 series in the quantum smoke. any opinions from people who used these? Both evenly priced. Ty Quote
Super User MN Fisher Posted January 29, 2022 Super User Posted January 29, 2022 Skip the President XT and get a Supreme XT for the price of a President XT Currently, BPS has discounted the prior model to $100 and they have 30s in stock. The new model did away with the anti-reverse switch. https://www.basspro.com/shop/en/pflueger-supreme-xt-spinning-reel-1408220742116-1 3 Quote
Ctjoe Posted January 29, 2022 Author Posted January 29, 2022 My mistake, that’s the model. Supreme xt or Smoke S3 I saw the smoke s3 for about 110.00 Quote

If I had the cash, I'd jump on the discounted XTs in a heartbeat. Quote
Super User Choporoz Posted January 29, 2022 Super User Posted January 29, 2022 I have two Smokes (25's) and love them. I like them better than my Presidents, but I don't have a Supreme. My Pfluegers that are more than 3 years old were better than any other manufacturer at handling heavy rain. But my last Pluger experiences a little binding in downpour....like most every other spinning reel I have. (Non-Symetre Shimano excepted) Quote
