Skip the President XT and get a Supreme XT for the price of a President XT

Currently, BPS has discounted the prior model to $100 and they have 30s in stock. The new model did away with the anti-reverse switch.

Ya - I'm a Pflueger fan since the 70s...still have my 640 UL reel from back then.

If I had the cash, I'd jump on the discounted XTs in a heartbeat.

I have two Smokes (25's) and love them.  I like them better than my Presidents, but I don't have a Supreme.

My Pfluegers that are more than 3 years old were better than any other manufacturer at handling heavy rain.  But my last Pluger experiences a little binding in downpour....like most every other spinning reel I have. (Non-Symetre Shimano excepted)

I think they also changed to an all aluminum body in the new model.

That's an improvement - removing the AR switch is a step backwards.

That’s an easy fix if you’d like to contact me
