cyclops2 Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 Since I have totally converted to Braided Lines. I troll a LOT with 1 rod in a boat holder. I cast and hold another rod in my right hand. My eyes are on the rod in the holder. I can see EVERY tug on the line by the lure. It is hypnotic at times. My right hand has 2 fingers pinching the line. I see & feel a slightest hit by submerged junk. I wait for it to clear by itself. I use the same rods when finding a school of fish. Nothing is changed. Braided line has me packing up all but 4 rods & reels to give away. All the others are just impulse buys long ago. I have kept 1 big & 1 small flyrod to catch Emerald Shiners for meat fishing trips for all the seniors.........I can also give away 2 medium Plano boxes also. I think I am maturing in my fishing needs & abilities. Quote

MidwestBassAttack Posted February 12, 2022 Posted February 12, 2022 Don’t do it!! I’ve been down that rabbit hole before. Cut back and sold a lot…then “re-stocked” the fleet. My wife already comments “Please don’t sell any more gear….you always end up selling then buying more a few months later” …………my plan worked ?? 4 1 Quote
cyclops2 Posted February 12, 2022 Author Posted February 12, 2022 I have " restocked " many times in 84 years. It was usually when tough financial times occurred. Some turn to alcohol, cigarettes' and drugs. I turn to fishing gear & boats. I am not perfect either. ? 1 Quote
WC53 Posted February 12, 2022 Posted February 12, 2022 When the garage overflows, I make sure the young relatives and neighborhood kids that fish are well outfitted. After a respectable mourning period, the process starts again. 3 Quote

I’ve got a great six-figure corporate gig but it’s amazing how quick that goes supporting everyone. 2 Quote
