yellowcard129 Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 I got both these reels coming in the Mail. What reel do you prefer? I've been a Shimano fan boy much of my life but bought a Steez SV TW and its amazing reel although I thought the SV was a little brake heavy. Im excited to try the Aluminum version.. The longevity factor on my Steez has been turning me to the dark side ha 3 seasons of heavy use and it still feels like new, cant say the same for my Shimanos after one season of heavy use, they feel geary or I have to replace a pinion gear or bearing. Hoping the 2020 version will hold up longer. For those who own these reels or have, if you had to choose one, which would it be and why? Quote
Super User jbsoonerfan Posted January 29, 2022 Super User Posted January 29, 2022 I own the Met but not the Steez. But I would be happy as a dead pig in the sunshine to own either. I have owned the older model Steez reels and they are amazing. Quote
NathanDLTH Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 You won't be disappointed in either, I have a couple Steez's and had a Steez A. Great reels. Quote
Super User PhishLI Posted January 29, 2022 Super User Posted January 29, 2022 The upside to the Steez A is the myriad of spools that can be dropped in to make it anything you want it to be from BFS capable to a rocket launcher. If you leave the A stone stock with its factory spool then the Met B is more capable with lighter baits. 1 Quote
SmugOne Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 I have had my Met for about a year and a half and it still feels as smooth as the day I got it. It is just a solid performer and I am sure it will last me for many years. Wish I could say I have fished the Steez but I have never even held one. I am sure you will love both. Quote
Bandersnatch Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 Sold my three 2020 Mets for steez’S Quote
Super User iabass8 Posted January 29, 2022 Super User Posted January 29, 2022 Steez A doesnt come with an SV spool mind you. Its stock spool is decent but i always sell them. The steez svtw, steez a, and morethan are my favorite variants so far. Zillion g is close. Quote
