Hoping someone has a quick fix for this. Anyhow the baitrunner on my Shimano Baitrunner D is not disengaging and allowing me to shift to the main drag. Has anyone come across this or does anyone know if there's an easy fix for this? Reel is practically new.

Not exactly sure what you are experiencing or describing.

Practically new meaning you just bought it or practically new because it hasn't been used?  if it is relatively new then I would just return it to where you purchased it and exchange for a new one.  If it is the latter then the video posted above should help.  I have a couple baitrunners that see use about once or twice a year and are all over 5 years old and I haven't experienced the issues you are.

Recently purchased, and yeah, return already in progress. I was hoping this wouldn't be my first issue with a Shimano reel that wasn't easily fixed. It appears its a somewhat common occurrence.
