PressuredFishing Posted January 25, 2022 Posted January 25, 2022 Inflation is biting everyone's wallet on almost everything, quality of life for everyone in my community is slowly but steadily going down. 1 Quote
Super User Bird Posted January 25, 2022 Super User Posted January 25, 2022 Buy a brand new vehicle and get free oil changes.......wait ! vehicle prices are up as well. Seriously though, buy oil and filters in bulk, saves a bunch. 3 Quote

Crappiebasser Posted January 26, 2022 Posted January 26, 2022 Just bought $54 in oil for my F150. It takes 8.8 quarts but it’s cheaper to buy 2 5 qt jugs. Add a filter and it costs me $60 to change my own oil. on the plus side every 9th oil change is free with the leftovers from the previous 8. 2 Quote

My work F150 only takes 6 quarts, I can usually do it for a little over $20 Quote
Super User gim Posted January 26, 2022 Super User Posted January 26, 2022 A while ago I started a thread on the price of beef. It morphed into a political argument. So I'm staying out of this one. IMO, there may be more to the story than just "politics." Supply and demand are out of whack on a lot of items and there is a severe shortage of workers in almost every field. I bring my F-150 in for "the works" about every 8,000 miles which includes an oil change/filter. It costs me 45 bucks but I get a discount because I take it to the service location at the dealership I bought it from. 1 Quote
Super User N Florida Mike Posted January 27, 2022 Super User Posted January 27, 2022 My old SUV needs oil every other week. There’s a local chain of convenience stores that sells oil for 4.99 qt . Contrast that with shell stations which sell pennzoil for twice that. Quote
Super User Hammer 4 Posted January 27, 2022 Super User Posted January 27, 2022 My truck, 2003 Duramax takes 10 qts. of oil, cost's me well over $ 100.00 every 3k miles. ☹️ Quote

Super User DitchPanda Posted January 31, 2022 Super User Posted January 31, 2022 Ran to the grocery store in town to pick up a few things yesterday. They had cauliflower at $7.29 a head. No thanks. Quote
