What do you guys think of this boat? Anyone with any experience with one? I am looking into buying a 2003 with a 90 hp Merc and 24 volt 67 lb thrust Motorguide.

I've got a TR-186 and love it.  The 67# trolling motor should be fine as it's the same that I have on mine and does a great job.  My only concern would be if you fish big lakes that get some wind with a 175.  But if you're smart and don't try anything risky, it should be a good boat.   :)

They are great boats.   I had one for a couple of years and it was very good in all aspects.  Front deck was large and easy to fish from and the storage was good and spacious.  Livewell was good too.

If you have that boat in any water that sinks it your a maniac... I had it in pretty huge swells a few times and it did just fine (also had the 90hp).  That 67lb should be enough for you, I ran an 82 but it was way more than enough.   I really don't have a bad thing to say about it other than its Merc was pretty cold natured.

The guy selling it is asking for $7900. I realize that worth is relative, but depending on the condition, do you think this boat would still be worth almost $8000? I have never owned a boat before and am some what clueless when it comes to them, any advice is appreciated.

I almost bought a TR-186 with a 115 Merc last year. It was in MINT condition and asking dealer price was $6,999. I would talk the guy down a bit if you can.

Research the value, there are sites that will give MSRP, trade in value and personal sale values.

Unfortunately, the owner called me back today to tell me the boat had been sold, so the search goes on.

I used to have a sign on the wall of my office in the car dealership I worked at:

"The car you looked at today and want to 'sleep on' until tomorrow is the same car someone looked at yesterday and 'slept on' last night."

It wasn't a selling tool so much as a reminder to customers that if you've done your research, the car (boat) is right and the finances are ready, the time to buy is now. NOT tomorrow.

You'll find another one. Just be ready to set the hook when you do!
