I stole the Gordon Ramsey's cream of broccoli, and adjusted it just a tad, works great with asparagus too. Seafood bisque, or cream of crab is pretty good too. My egg drop, and pork chop yat gaw mein get good reviews. I make chicken nice (noodle and rice) soup and have that down to 30 minutes from scratch. I really like beef barley, but the wife doesn't so I don't make it often. 2 Quote
Super User Columbia Craw Posted January 25, 2022 Super User Posted January 25, 2022 Thai chicken coconut curry. My favorite. 2 Quote

I used to make a hot & sour egg drop soup, but what you just posted needs some more dialog between us. That sounds awesome. ? My wife is the beef barley soup one in my house and I'm the only chowder and seafood bisque eater. 4 hours ago, Columbia Craw said: Thai chicken coconut curry. My favorite. You and I need to talk! Super User Spankey Posted January 25, 2022 Super User Posted January 25, 2022 Soups is one thing my wife excels at when it comes to cooking. One of the main reasons I’ve kept her. She makes a wicked chicken and turkey corn chowder. This is what I’ve seen and have been told. I’m not a fan of those two. But I’m always ready for chicken veg, turkey noodle, beef veg, Italian wedding, chicken w/rice. Sounds great what you’re doing. 1 Quote

CountryboyinDC Posted January 26, 2022 Posted January 26, 2022 I'm a fan of a variety of soups. If there's leftover smoked turkey, turkey noodle is going to be made from the carcass and it (or Brunswick stew). If there's venison roast about, I'll make that into a venison and barley soup. And if I'm just in the mood to make some soup, lentil and Italian sausage soup is a family favorite. The wife makes some soups that are faster - my favorite is a fish ball and mung bean noodle she whips up on occasion. 1 Quote

Super User Deleted account Posted January 26, 2022 Super User Posted January 26, 2022 Wow, I owe some of ya'll an apology. I thought (based on most of the fishing answers ) that we'd be opening cans of Campbell's or Progresso on this thread, but since it seems like ya'll are up to it, give these Peruvian soups a try sometime.
