Looking for light wire football jig with a wire guard for my hula grubs I notice all yamamoto football jig heads with a weed guard are sold out so looking for something to replace it.

They didn't say anything about the diameter, But MH can handle everything as long as they are middle sharp which this hooks are.

I bet boss has some finesse football heads, their jig heads have skirt keepers too but honesty if you don’t put a skirt on it it will just act as part of the bait keeper. I use their swim jig heads as swimbait heads and they work great, have a great hook, and are dirt cheap. Edit found some. You can buy them cheaper without the weed guard and just glue it in yourself https://www.fishingskirts.com/product-category/boss/boss-standup-football-head/

Lead Masters in Hesperia California makes wire guard plain football jigs. Lunker City made a plain single wire guard football jigs.

Looks like the new owner of GYCB isn’t selling plain football jigs.

Bill at Lead Masters sells them, give him a call.

It’s a shame the Gary sold his company to someone who isn’t carrying on his products. GYCB football jigs were excellent with both Owner and Gamakatsu hooks at under $1 each!

I have the boss football heads but haven't fished them yet.  The hook looks appropriate for MH/12lb line to me.

It really is a shame that they aren't carrying those jig heads anymore! I've been meaning to try those plain wire jig heads with a hula grub because of your recommendation. I just contacted them to see if they'll be having them in stock for the future. I sure hope so.

This is what the rep told me:

It is quite common after M&As for products and services that were previously available get discontinued or the quality drastically drops.
