Deebo Posted January 16, 2022 Posted January 16, 2022 I wanted to try and start using a wacky drop shot and had some questions. What plastics do you prefer? What hook, and when to use it? I got a pack of Don iovino 6" worms, some 6" roboworms, trick worms. Would the mosquito hook that I use for nose hooking work since they are smaller bodied worms, or should I use like a neko hook. Would be nice to switch from nose hook to wacky without redoing the rig. Quote
Super User WRB Posted January 16, 2022 Super User Posted January 16, 2022 Finesse worms like Iovino and Roboworms can be wacky hooked using size 1 Owner Mosquito hooks very effectively. Another good wacky rigged worm is Jackall Flick Shake 4.8 worm. Tom 2 Quote
Finessegenics Posted January 16, 2022 Posted January 16, 2022 A senko is fine too. Makes a great dropshot bait, you can downsize to the 3” or 4” if you want a smaller presentation. I stick with the classic dropshot hooks and just go up to a 1/0 if I have a meatier plastic. Quote

Super User Deleted account Posted January 16, 2022 Super User Posted January 16, 2022 Not a fan of wacky drop shot (or most other hybrid attempts). A thin senko thing or finesse worm is what I would use were I ever inclined. It's a slippery slope, pretty soon folks will be wanting to cast umbrellas... Quote
