Probably have a half dozen brands, but I went all in with ARK last year after buying my first Tharp series. Mostly gonna be ARK on the deck, plus two Phenix Feathers and a 735 Fury in 22.

A particular brand of rods doesn’t really matter to me.
If it fit’s a need and has the right length and action for what I need, and in my price point I’ll get it….

Loomis

Phenix

Fenwick

Diawa

Falcon

Dobyns

Quantum

Reels however are a different story.

For the most part I'm a St Croix guy, the salt water and fly rods differ other than a 3 pc inshore and a 5 wt fly.

When I was a kid I used to be amazed to see my uncles hallway that was lines on both sides with saltwater rods, back when I had 1 salt water and 1 fresh. I wouldn't be too far off if I were to do the same 50+ years later.

OK so it looks like most have some variety in their arsenal.  Especially you new2BC4bass, you're my new idol lol.  I was thinking it was only me.  I have a Shimano, a St. Croix, a Loomis, 2 going on 3 Dobyns, 2 Kistler, and a Fenwick.  Thanks for all the replies

A few years ago there was a guy on tackletour thinning his herd.  He was selling something like 110 of each...rods and reels.  I couldn't afford the cheapest he was selling.  :jaw-drop:  Mine has been acquired over the past 13 years.  I don't sell.

I've said it umpteen times before....I wouldn't have near the gear I have if the fishing was decent in my area.  New and new-2-me gear is about all that keeps me going out.

I haven't fished in your neck of the woods in over 20 years, and it was good then, but if it's as bad as you say, I'd get a NJ license and hop on 78...

No doubt a boat would help.  I've fished from several places on Lake Nockamixon along the State Park side of the lake.  Used to live by a guy that did well on Beltsville Lake...but he left the house about 8 p.m. and fished all night from a boat.  Day time fishing from shore was horrible.  Leaser Lake was drained and the dam repaired.  Full again and I guess fishing is so-so if you have a boat.  Highly pressured from shore.  The Mauch Chunk Lake near Jim Thorpe can be good from a boat from what I've been told, but I didn't do well at all from shore.  I've fished close to half its shoreline.

I've caught a couple at Promise Land State Park.  Minsi Lake was drained to repair dam.  A few years later the water level was way down again due to a leak.  I've tried a few others near me...and not so near. Kaercher State Park was donated, but the state and county couldn't agree on whose responsibility it was to maintain the grounds....so neither did.  Boat ramp is open and the parking lot near it.  Rest is closed except for foot traffic.

I've caught a few fish over the years on the Lehigh River.  From what I've seen, public access to the Delaware River near me sucks.  It has terrific fishing if you can get to the right areas.  I've read of 100 Smallmouth bass days fishing on it.

I live in Bethlehem and travel I78 to Exit 36 for work.  I've considered getting a NJ fishing license, but never did.  I don't see me stopping to fish on the way home from work.  Getting up for work until I get home is a 12 hour day or more as it is (and I still haven't gotten cleaned up or ate supper).  I'd have to make a trip on a weekend.

I plead the 5th.

The oldest rod I own is Chubb, and don't fish, but it's fun to cast.

Certainly the brand I've bought the most, presents for my dad, a few for myself and daughters, is Falcon - Lamiglas is a close second.

The two rods I bought most recently, and the next I plan to buy are Valleyhill.

I made a switch about 5 years ago to only 1 brand for bottom contact (feel) presentations.  Before I had a combination of brands and while they all had good sensitivity, in my hands they all felt different.  I made the switch because I felt more comfortable and confident with a consistent feel.

For everything else, brand doesn’t matter.

What?  You don't keep any kind of files on your gear?  Never tried to learn how to use an Excel file (Are those what are called spreadsheets?), but I keep a rod list and reel list in a regular Word type file.  Otherwise I'd have no idea how many rods and reels I have.

Reels: I have more Daiwas with Shimano a distant second.  Rods: more Fenwicks with Daiwa a close second.

I develop web apps for a living. Why would I want to do work stuff to my hobby? I don't even have a PC in my home.

All but one of my rods are Cabela's branded...purchased in the 1990's. The lone outlier is a Berkeley bait-caster...it's a stump-puller for sure.
