According to the diagrams, the Sniper looks to be the better overall option here. Both are pretty much at the same price point. For those who have used either, what are your experiences?

edit: will be used mainly for flipping/pitching soft plastic texas rigs, jigs, etc

I have used both and both are just OK but in Sunline's product selection, Shooter is the way to go.  Personal opinion, I like Invizx better than Assassin and Sniper but Shooter is just a slighter better line than Invizx.  Invizx is the better value out of all of them, if you can find it on sale.

To compare it to Trilene mono lines .....  Assassin is like XT in a way and Shooter is like XL.

I have used both and ended up liking Assassin over Sniper.  I'd recommend trying both and see how they feel to you.  If there is one thing I have learned about line, it is a very personal choice.

When Sunline 1st introduced sniper was limited to 4 to 10lb  test targeting finesse spinning market, Shooter was 10 lb to 20 lb test for bait casting reels. Over time Shooter was offered in 3 lb test groups and Sniper 4 to 20. Shooter being more expensive per yard.

Today Sunline is offering Super FC at a lower price. Assassin was introduced at 25% lower price point then Sniper, now equal price.

What is important to bass angers is knot strength and Abrasion resistance, Sniper excels over Assassin in both.

I use Sniper but have used pretty much every mid to high priced fluoro on the market.  Outside of some of the stiffer high end lines, if I fished most of them blindfolded for a day, my odds of guessing which one I was using would probably be low.  It’s kind of like Coke or Pepsi…Ford or Chevy.

I like them both, I use assassin for shakey heads. Sniper is great for T-Rigs and a little tougher so you won't break off as much.

I love Sniper. I use it for many applications, including t-rig (16#) and jigs (16# and 20#). Also, KVD line conditioner always helps with any fluro.

Tournament fishing for 17 years. Have used almost everything and sponsored by a few. Ditched Seagaur about 5 years ago when started using Sunline. Assassin and Sniper (Sniper is a little stiffer and better abrasion) are my go to from 8-16. Anything over that I use Defier up to 20lb. By far Sunline outperformed Seagaur hands down. Tournaments from 20 degrees to 100 degrees Sunline is best.
