Unk Posted January 12, 2022 Posted January 12, 2022 I sort of grew up on the water . Born and raised on Guntersville Lake . Started out in a jon boat with a mighty 3hp Evinrude kicker . In the early days , I learned a fair amount helping my friend run trotlines - back when there were still fresh fish markets selling cats from the lake . Used to fish local and regional tournaments back when Ray Scott first started B.A.S.S. After doing this for a couple of years , I realized it might not be a good idea to give up my day job . Gave up bass fishing when I found an old sailboat to refit - moved aboard and headed South . Long story short , it's been 45 years since I picked out a back lash on a regular basis ( I believe they are called over runs these days ) . Most everything is different now and there is a great deal I have to catch up on . I still plan to fish Guntersville but want to try to learn how to fish some of the deeper clearer lakes in central and Eastern Tennessee. If you can believe it , with all of the fishing I have done , I have never caught a SMB and I would like to in the worst kind of way . I will attempt to find information by searching the archives but , failing that , I hope you will tolerate questions that seem terribly basic . Thanks in advance . Quote
