jejenkyns Posted March 13, 2023 Posted March 13, 2023 I own a number of reels and this is my favorite. Perhaps it is important to say that it is my most expensive reel, but not all my reels can be placed in an order of preference by their pricetag. It just feels right to me, the size, the way it casts lighter lures, heavier lures. I love the breaks most of all. I haven't opened it since the day I bought it. I do adjust the outer brake dial when necessary but they just work. And most importantly I can't *feel* the brakes like I can with mag brakes. Quote
SuperDuty Posted March 13, 2023 Posted March 13, 2023 I just picked up the 151 MGL and a Daiwa SV TW. I am having a very hard time deciding which one I like better, if there is a better one. It seems the MGL casts better or maybe, I just set it up better. Either way, I am loving the MGL. Quote
Tatulatard Posted March 13, 2023 Posted March 13, 2023 Flouro and skip plastics with the sv and braid to leader the mgl for open water casting. Set both with no spool tension once you're ready. 1 Quote

I’ll pick up a 150 before spring. I ran a 200k for boot tails like the 6” magdraft, 5.8’s, bigger spinners, chatters and wound up replacing it with a tatula 200 for the capacity. Larger diameter line was an issue for me with the curado 200 with cast n crank presentations and 17-20lb line, I could easily empty over half the line on a cast, bye-bye ipt’s. Yeah that’s what happened to my slx xt in one season. Looking for something more durable Quote
