Hi there. I am trying to surprise my boyfriend with a fishing trip to Miami to catch a peacock bass (his fishing goal). I read that Muami Falls Canal is one of the best places to catch one. Can anyone confirm this? Also, is it possible to enter the canals by boat? If so, can you give an address of one near by?

Sorry for all of the questions. We live about 4 hours north and I know nothing about the area. Any help with this is greatly appreciated!

If you have a boat the Lake Ida/Osborne chain of lakes have been pretty good recently (not sure if today's cold snap will change that). There is a shop in Delray Beach that can hook it up with info on how and where to fish and bait (shiners).

Thank you so much! We do have a boat so this is great. I'm not planning to go until the end of April so the cold snap shouldn't hurt it, I wouldn't think any way. However, I am still learning all about fish!

Thanks again.

Good luck, April is typically when it starts to heat back up! Also some clown knife fish and other exotics in those lakes and canals that would really blow your boyfriends mind. You aren't too far from Snakehead territory if that tickles his fancy as well.
