Alex Ball Posted January 9, 2022 Posted January 9, 2022 Hey guys(and ladies), I was wondering if any body has any experience with Denali Rods that isn't a Pro Staffer. I have 4 of their rods. I got 2 from a guy who is a Pro Staffer and 2 from their store. So far, so good but I was just looking for other unbiased opinions. They have a sale right now and I'm thinking of switching over to them exclusively for my days on a boat. I have others for the White River spot I go to. I fish Bull Shoals Lake out of the Bull Shoals Marina if that matters somehow. Thanks. Quote
Eric 26 Posted January 9, 2022 Posted January 9, 2022 I’m going to throw my .02 cents in. First off I’m not the guy who hits it hard fishing maybe 2-3 times a week for 1-3 hours at a time mostly at a local retention pond where the big bass is around 2 pounds. I bought my Denali “fission” rod off a co worker who used it a handful of times for $40.00 and I have used it for the past 2 seasons as a small crank/square bill rod. It’s a med. power fast action rod and the reason my co-worker sold it to me is the mod. fast action which I’m loving. Not sure if that power/action translates to the rest of their lineup but I will say I’m very pleased with the build quality on my particular model, the Winn grip (which I have several rods incorporating them) are a really nice touch and the best in my lineup, the duralumin guides are straight and the reel seat stays locked with no issues. I personally love the curled trigger on the seat also. I realize this model is discontinued and hopefully you receive some more responses with some current rod reviews. 1 Quote
suzuki2903 Posted January 9, 2022 Posted January 9, 2022 I use two kovert and three attax rods and fish twice a week normally. They are soft compared to say Lews which I use their pro ti rods as well. Nonetheless, no issues with them and prefer Winn grips over cork. You can ask them questions on Facebook messenger and will answer quickly as well which is nice . Quote

I also have a Lithium Flippin Stick and a Pryme rod. I'm with you Suzuki2903 on the softness, their F is MF by most standards. I too use Lew's for my broomsticks, love the neckbreaker action. IMO, the Lithium is a top notch rod. Like vs. anybody it'll win. I live 20 minutes from their main store so it's super convenient too. To Eric, never had a Fission but Southern Reel Outfitters still has em online. Might check em out. I'll post my lineup in a bit. Maybe ya'll can help me out. I finally figured out what I like so now I can streamline. Looking forward to the advice Quote

rangerjockey Posted January 10, 2022 Posted January 10, 2022 The only 2 rods you have listed that I'm familiar with are the kovert and Lithium. If the Kovert is the model labeled spinnerbait rod a lot of guys use it for a topwater/jerkbait rod also. If its the 6'10 crank bait rod it would work for warts , RK Crawlers and 1.5's That Lithium is way too much rod for cranking. Maybe a 10 XD but how often is that bite going to happen on Bull or Table Rock. Possibly in late June/early July and then it would be up one of the rivers. It would be a good flippin' stick and A-Rig rod though. Quote

Getting the 7'10" crank rod for sure but am looking for 1 more. Any suggestions you have would be helpful. Love both rods. Quote
rangerjockey Posted January 10, 2022 Posted January 10, 2022 I'd get the spinnerbait rod . Makes a great jerkbait and topwater rod.. If you don't need to cover those techniques, the Kovert 7ft2 MH is probably the best all around rod . I throw Chatterbaits , buzzbaits and spinnerbaits on it for the most part. It's also a good 110 plopper rod. Quote
