I’m looking at the Daiwa Kage LT at my local pro shop and I was wondering if the cork knob was coated or if I would have to seal it? I have not gotten to look at one in person since they’ve been out of stock but they said they were getting some coming in soon.

Daiwa sells the RCS knobs both ways.

They even cost the same.

You can see a seam in the coating if it's there, plus the coated knob is more rounded.

Is there any place in the US the sales these? I've seen them on Japan sites.

eBay is your friend but you are gonna pay a lot more when compare to Japan shop online. Tackle trap used to have some in stock and check out flea market at TT,  I see it pop up here and there. They want big money for OG Daiwa cork knob.

The knobs on the Kage are the coated ones. No need to do anything to them.

I did buy are pair of the non- coated ones. Not as nice as the coated ones. I had to sand the edges down a little to round them out. Then I sealed them with some U-40.

Does daiwa sell them on the site? And I'd so, part number?

My Kage LT 2000 knobs do appear to be coated. After having the reel for over a year now, I have no complaints. I don't even notice them, which is possibly the best thing I could say about them.
