Braid gets fouled in the hooks too often for my patience when the bait lands, but I've used it plenty with jerkbaits and have adjusted my drag to compensate. This has been my experience as well using braid and a treble hook Quote
scbassin Posted January 2, 2022 Posted January 2, 2022 I would go with M/M with Sufix Advance Hyper Copolymer 12 lb Test. Quote

It’s the one application that is helpful to have some “give” when I’m constantly snapping the rod and all of the sudden there’s some weight on the end. 1 Quote
Deephaven Posted January 3, 2022 Posted January 3, 2022 My favorite bait is a jerk. Medium XF & 20lb Power Pro with no leader is how I fish them 90% of the time. Never on spinning, never mono, and never a moderate action rod. Quote
Super User Boomstick Posted January 3, 2022 Super User Posted January 3, 2022 My favorite jerkbait rod is my St Croix Mojo Bass 6'8" M/XF. It's a little lighter than the other St Croix mediums, so it basically bends all the way through but not too much at the tip. It's much easier to detect bites on a twitch than with a more moderate tip. And I use mono or fluorocarbon. Quote
