Dude. I watched a video today of a guy catch a 25.75 inch fish that weighed over 12. I think you might have got a teener!

I can’t quite recall which fish were biggest but I think I got at least 2 21.5” smallmouth. One was with a cotton Cordell spoon in late January and one was with a zoom finesse worm on a jig head sometime in the fall. Might have got a couple more that size in summer , probably with a similar worm

Ya.  I think my scale was off.  It read 10.3 lbs.   I bought a new scale, now all I need to do is catch that fish again.

I thought a zoom dead ringer was the only worm you use

Coming in at 2nd place, Yum Dinger GP again, 4.25#.

Caught 50 feet from the above fish, 2 weeks later. Could have caught them both from my Dad's dock. Got this from the new OT PDL 106 yak.

A lot of spinnerbaits mentioned. I keep hearing how nobody fishes them anymore .

Many are waiting on the Spinnerbait Edition rod to hit the market.

Skipped a 1/2oz football jig under an overhanging tree on Lake Austin. *tick*.  It was a hair under 8lbs.

Just started fishing them again in the fall with great success after many years of failure. Been seeing a lot of YouTube videos about how the spinnerbait is becoming a player for people again.

Frustratingly, spinnerbaits were not a big fish bait for me in 2021. Probably caught over 60% of my fish this year on them, but I don’t think I broke 5lbs on them once this year. I think three came close. For all of these, interestingly, the spinnerbait was either retrieved on the bottom or enroute to the bottom. Something for me to consider again this year.

For me it was a 1/2 ounce Strike King Red Eye Shad Tungsten Two Tap , 5.3 lbs . The third time in the last four years it came off a Red Eye Shad .

Same bait but in 3/4 ounce size. 9-4lbs
