I came on the Guntersville trip back in 2012. Had a blast despite some less than stellar conditions. Loved it so much I wanted to move to Guntersville.

Life's funny though because I lost my job and found a great new job in alabama! Moved down a year and a half ago.

I saw there havnt been any since 2012 besides the unofficial one. Any plans to get it up and running again?

If not I'd be down for spit balling an unofficial trip somewhere in the south east.

We discussed this on the last zoom call meeting. Glen talked about some of the trips.. wish I was on the the forums then as it sounded awesome .

I PM'd Glenn earlier in the year about this and offered my hotel on the lake as the host for an event. There's a lot of work involved on his end, especially lining up sponsors, raffles, etc. and there were costs involved on his end. It's tough to justify all of that when only 20 people show up. I get that.

I think what it would take to get this done is a STRONG commitment - probably including some cash deposits - well in advance of an official Bass Resource event.

An unofficial meetup would be easy to set up.

@KozGlenn worked hard on the trips and it showed. Like I said I had a BLAST! Maybe we get a couple unofficial meetups under our belts, and get enough people interested in a BassResource Trip?

Anywho, suggestions for a lake?

I'd love to fish Guntersville again for nostalgia purposes, but I dont really know any lakes down here and I'd love  to go somewhere I havnt been!

I'll throw Tennessee River in the hat for ya @TnRiver46!

Haha! Thanks! The part of the TN river I fish looks like a creek compared to the guntersville section of it. The main channel of the big G can be quite terrifying if the wind is over 7-8 mph

@TnRiver46 I spent most of my time on lake st claire. Its big shallow bowl really. Winds like that in a bass boat were a lil sketchy sometimes for sure.

They hitting this time of year in the Tennessee River?

Absolutely ! They never really stop. My buddies slayed big smallies yesterday up to 21”. In 70 degree weather (while I’m stuck looking at flooded fields in Ohio )

I tried to put together an unofficial one on Table Rock several years ago and I think 5 or 6 people showed up. Kind of how it usually goes, a bunch of people were interested at first, then they drop off one by one until there's barely enough people left to make worth the trip other than for the fishing.

I posted awhile back about trying to set up a meet and great for Florida folks and garnered some preliminary interest.
I haven’t said anymore yet because Mrs Mike tested and my entire focus has been on her.

I attended the road-trip on Wilson Lake a few years ago and had a great time.
Depending on what happens I’m in!

It is a nice store, been a couple times, but it’s 3 hours away so I haven’t been more. I don’t think you can see it all in one trip.

Sounds like a good time! It would have to be a for sure thing with decent attendance for me to pull my boat out of state from San Antonio though ?. Half of most of these long trips is just getting out of Texas!

Hahah. I was on family vacation in Ohio. Although, I bet I could make decent cash trapping at farms up there. The in-laws live near the Michigan border so we made a drive up, we love Michigan. I also saw a cool little historic mill on the river raisin, didn’t have a rod with me though. I would imagine it wasn’t good fishing this time of year. We also hung out at my brother in laws house in Toledo and drove along the maumee, didn’t see a soul fishing

Might be some Steel head or walleye below the dam this time of year.  Shoot this time next week we will be ice fishing most of mid and lower Michigan.
