I do very well during pre-spawn/spawn with Black Neon (red) jigs, craw worms, & liz-zards. That color produces at night as well.

Purple and grape are my two best colors, so I usually keep some flake colors tf these on hand. I like silver or gold flakes with these two colors

The translucent soft plastics color can change the flake colors. Flake color should compatible to the plastic it’s used in.

The original salt & pepper used black and silver flakes in clear to smoke soft plastics. It’s becomes selecting flakes that appear the color you are looking for.

Copper flakes have been popular for decades copper & coal in smoke for example. The purple and black flakes with greens like watermelon and green pumpkin are popular.

Flakes size is another consideration standard, small and micro sizes have a different affect again depending on color of the plastic. Translucent soft plastic come to life better than solid colors where the light shines through.

Roboworm uses primarily translucent plastic and small flakes and micro neon flakes combined with multiple soft plastic colors. This is one of the advantages of hand pours.

Flakes colors range from black, blue, green, red, gold, copper, silver, purple, they all work.

In general I go for green, green and more green. Maybe some white and yellow.

I'd actually love a 5 inch senko that's half dark green/half light green, with white flake throughout.

Ours up here in Canada aren't red like that at all. 100% brown. That thing looks like a lobster!
