Matrix Resurrection

What did I just watch?  Horrible in a way I can't describe.  Why did they let this movie even get released?   I liked the first movie and the next two weren't great but they were at least entertaining. 

 

Anybody else loose 2+ hours of their lives watching this lurid schmutz?

I was contemplating going and paying full ticket price, but, given your reaction, I will wait for it to come out on Netflix.  I can buy a Vision 110 for what it cost for a movie and soda.

The all-time worst sequel had to be Blade Runner 2049, and we had to wait a lifetime for that.

Ridley Scott gave it to his protege while he himself mulled over the sequel to Prometheus. 

Ridley Scott is the luckiest director in Hollywood history.  The original Blade Runner, the writers' strike forced all the lines to be ad-libbed by the actors, and filming in the rain made them hate each other on the set.  He just happened to be there.  His late brother Tony was a much better director. Look at the actors whose careers have dwindled without him (Denzel Washington). 

Another good directing team and actor pair are the Keurig brothers and Ethan Hawke (Daybreakers, Predestination). 

Luc Besson is the director whose movies are always an entertaining ride, whether or not they make sense.

I wasted time watching it too. It was disappointing. I have HBOmax so at least I didn't have to leave the house. I am starting to wonder if I should keep HBOmax. Not much I want to watch there.

I watched it after I found out that it was on HBOmax.  It did not live up to the hype.  With that said, it was still mediocre.  Watch it if you have nothing else to do.  My biggest criticism is that the movie was clearly made for the broadest possible audience instead of the cult following.  The plot was not the greatest either, and it did not do a great job filling in the time period between this movie and the last.  To go any further into depth, I would need to use spoilers.

I just read the audience reviews on rotten tomatoes. A lot of people said it was boring and stupid. Some said they left half way through cause it was so bad. I was really looking forward to watching it, but I think I’ll save my money.

All those descriptions are how I felt during the first 2 matrix movies

The first Matrix came out in 99 the same year Fight Club came out..both were perfect for a 16 year old boy. The matrix movies that came after were shells of the original..ill avoid the new one.

I watched it on HBO Max over two nights because I couldn't stay awake. I've watched the original Matrix numerous times but I'll never watch Resurrection again.

you guys sure complain a lot..... personally, i'm still waiting for titanic 2... uh, it's where a couple of the passengers who managed to get into one of the lifeboats find a life of happiness together, white picket fence, a dog (mongrel), and...well,,,..oh, he gets a job as a life insurance guy..... she takes up sewing... . nothing happens much....... they got two bratty kids............ titanic 2. coming soon.

I saw it on HBO Max. The only thing I liked about it was the new girl was played by Jessica Henwick from the Netflix Daredevil series. I liked her in that show as Colleen Wing and hoped she would get more work.

 

Other than that it was really a mess. The original was a masterpiece and really all you need to see. Anything that followed afterwards never captured the same magic.
