I just don't get to go as much as I would like. I can certainly relate. Both of my girls ran track, played tennis and the youngest also played volleyball. As a dad, I knew where priorities needed to be and hunting and fishing were on the back burner for quite some time.....all worth it. Quote
rtwvumtneer6 Posted December 23, 2021 Posted December 23, 2021 I've weighed tackle to stay within the airline weight limits of a checked back. #22 for the absolutely minimum to keep me from a complete state of panic. 1 Quote
Super User Log Catcher Posted December 23, 2021 Super User Posted December 23, 2021 My tackle box weighed in at 17.8 pounds. I also have a separate box with suspending jerk baits. Another one for shaky head and dropshots. I don't even want to think about how much weight I have in soft plastics. Quote

Super User FryDog62 Posted December 23, 2021 Super User Posted December 23, 2021 I've been thinking of switching out my 4 lead acid batteries for Lithium. Not because they last longer, but the 180 pounds less in weight will allow me to acquire a lot more necessary tackle ? 1 Quote

Took ten hours to figure out how to cull. The what-if monster is bad. And I keep having experiences where a little tweak made a big difference. Case in point, this weekend, a canary mini-mag squarebill was the deal. Smaller, no bite, other colors, no bite. I really figured chartruese would have gotten a bite, but nope. More and more I'm appreciating how a little tweak can turn an ok day into an awesome day, particularly on crankbaits. I don't notice it nearly as much on soft plastics, which make up at least 60% of the weight. I started lifting to get in shape, now I lift so I can carry more stuff. Quote
