Weighing your tackle box/boxes ???

As I'm prepping for the HIGHLY coveted pre-spawn, hook sharpening, reel maintenance, restocking of preferred baits, I've done something never done before. 

 

Wife came into the garage touching and grabbing everything I was trying to accomplish and picked up my tackle box and asked if I carried an extra deep cycle battery.  Lol

 

That prompted a trip to the scales, something I've never done before. 

My single tackle box weighed in at 18.2 lbs.

Curious if anyone has actually took the time to weigh their tackle ?

I've not weighed it, but it's got to be pretty stupid.

Getting less & less each season now, which is probably a good thing.

Still, I bet I have 18 lbs of Zakos in the boat right now.

Never weighed my stuff but it can only weigh so much since I carry it all in a milk crate in my kayak.

My total tackle weight gets lighter every year. Over time you learn what works and what you like, and you stop falling for the newest thing that's just like the old thing.

I have two tackle bag, one in car for back up, my on my back when I go fishing, The one in car about 35lb the one at my back about 15lb plus.

I have 4 tackle box 3600 size that they stay in car as well.

yes I know it is a lot but it is what I need to carry on foot in order to be ready for any situation.

Haven't in years, but when I went to Mexico last time when I was 18, I was about 20lbs over the limit, which I believe was 60lbs. Had to move a bunch to my clothes bag to avoid paying a fee.

Wife wondered that one day - so I stacked the 4 tackle bags I took with me in the canoe on the scale.

 

72lbs total.

I guess I would have to weigh the boat, take the tackle out and weigh again, kind of like selling scrap metal (yes, I have been poor). But back when I just had a tackle bag, it was about 38lbs.

I took (almost), everything out when I had to take my boat into the shop a couple years ago. I'm not curious enough about how much gear I carry to do that again.

I have been tossing around the idea of selling my boat till the kids graduate, then I think, what will I do with all that tackle. LOL

My is around 5000lbs total...but I consider the boat and rods part of my tackle.

Not to sound like Rodney Dangerfield, but if I weighed my gear a ticket would come out of the scale that says; "one at a time".

 

My boat is moored in an ocean bay, All rods and tackle come off and rinsed with fresh water after every trip. It's a 1/4 mile walk from my home to the boat so I only bring what I need for the day. My gear is too heavy to haul back and forth.

I don't know what makes him so funny with the cliche one liners, but he is one of the funniest guys ever.

I do a lot worse like that. The days where I take 2 rods and a small handheld bag are my best days.

Well, from March - October I went to 208 softball games (coached in about 50) and have already been to 22 basketball games since the start of November. I just don't get to go as much as I would like.

I don’t weigh mine, but I can guarantee it gets a little heavier every year.
