cyclops2 Posted December 21, 2021 Posted December 21, 2021 Usually helps if I cast with it. Propels The boat silently. The fish are more eager to bite after I go by. Some fish hook themselves. 1 Quote
Super User T-Billy Posted December 21, 2021 Super User Posted December 21, 2021 The Lord likes to make it blow when I'm on a hot bite pitching laydowns and bushes. He finds it amusing watching me try to pitch into tight places and control the boat in a stiff breeze. ? Quote
Super User Darren. Posted December 21, 2021 Super User Posted December 21, 2021 Fish psychiatry 101. I love the wind. I love the wind. The wind loves me. The wind loves me. *birdsnest* AWW *#&&@$% 3 Quote
scbassin Posted December 21, 2021 Posted December 21, 2021 It's a good thing to fish into the wind which causes a current which the fish face into. This way they will also see your lure sooner. If your boat drifts over them it creates a shadow & noise right over them. Quote
cyclops2 Posted December 21, 2021 Author Posted December 21, 2021 We are a tourist area with screaming boats of all sizes & speeds. Almost every weekend. The fish love the noise. It causes small stuff to dart out. I catch as many eating sized & C & R sized fish right in the boat paths. Quote
Super User GreenPig Posted December 21, 2021 Super User Posted December 21, 2021 I try to fish on the windier days. Quote
cyclops2 Posted December 21, 2021 Author Posted December 21, 2021 Do the fresh water plankton stay up high on cloudy day ? I ask, because those are my best perch days. For catching them, for a good friend, that is home bound. Quote

Cloudy days, the plankton rise up to catch as much sunlight as possible for photosynthesis. Quote
The Bassman Posted December 21, 2021 Posted December 21, 2021 Even in the dead of winter I do best on the windward side even though it's the least comfortable for me. Quote
cyclops2 Posted December 21, 2021 Author Posted December 21, 2021 Thank you very much. Now a lot makes more sense. Victor also thanks you. Quote
Super User LrgmouthShad Posted December 21, 2021 Super User Posted December 21, 2021 Wind is okay I suppose. I really like clouds. Cloudy today and had a decent day although it was very chilly. Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted December 22, 2021 Super User Posted December 22, 2021 Around here moving baits always work better with a little wind. Quote

Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted December 22, 2021 Global Moderator Posted December 22, 2021 I love "some" wind. I don't want it to be dead calm, but we have a lot of days with 20+ mph winds that I'm not much of a fan of but I still go. 1 Quote
