Either back home to East Tennessee (Go Vols!) or to North Arkansas.

I like where I live when the lakes are not frozen over. We don't get the largest bass, but heck it is certainly beautiful.

If I could position myself about a hour north, it would put me closer to three of my favorite lakes to fish.

In 5 years I will move back to the swamps of Eastern North Carolina.  It's  home and I will live out my days in my perfect place.

South Georgia or panhandle of FL. I was 98% saltwater fishing until 2 years ago and I still prefer it to any freshwater fishing, but man it gets old having to wash everything down after a long day on the water. Even then, life expectancies of just about everything is often greatly reduced!

Assuming I want to stay married, and I do, the best I can manage is buying a second house in Northern Michigan in a few years and live there from April till November when I retire.  My wife has no interest in leaving the area so I will will always reside around Chicago with a second home by some of the best smallmouth fishing in the world.  I plan to take a long 2-week vacation down south every winter around the end of January to Texas or Florida.  At least that is my plan for now.

I’m already there. And I’ve got four (4) international airports within an hours drive if a change of scenery is needed….

I would have to split it up. Somewhere up north for SMB fishing in the warmer weather. Then go to either Florida, Texas, or Mexico in the winter for LMB fishing.

Well, if I ever play and win the lottery I'd by some land with a private lake in South Carolina, somewhere in the middle of the state where I won't have to deal with alligators. The lake would be big enough for a tricked out jon boat or kayak. Not too big and not too small.

Then I'd take the time to place different structure, aquatic vegetation, and shoreline vegetation to create diversified habitats throughout.

I have very good lakes within 2-3 hours from me. Most places I've heard that have better bass are places I wouldn't want to live. May move to Oregon though to be closer to my family one day, and there's plenty of fishing there and an interesting variety as well. Don't really want to live there though either, or where I'm at now. Hmm seems I have a problem. Mexico sounds interesting.

Can buy a house in Oregon though unlike here.

What are the good bass lakes in Oregon?

I'd want to live somewhere I could catch big largemouth and smallmouth, with a big assortment of species (stripers, muskie, and big blue cats getting priority), that doesn't get as cold as it does here. Pretty much leaves me with Arkansas and Tennessee.

I dunno yet, I'm in Cali still. Hopefully someone can tell me :)

I just visited Oregon but didn't really fish. next visit I will. I was in Salem and there are creeks and rivers everywhere, and unlike California they still have water in them.

Right where I am in S Louisiana.

Every year I catch tons of fish.  Average is 3-5lbs, and I catch at least one 9+

I'm a snowbird, spending the spring and summer in N GA and the winter in central FL and find  that's the best for me.  I live next to Lake Lanier and the N GA rivers and very close to good bass fishing in central FL both lake, river and the Gulf Coast for salty things.

Right where I'm at- Living on a  private 200 acre lake in South Carolina with little to no fishing pressure and being able to fish year-around for Largemouth. I'm Blessed.

A very remote area of Tennessee or Alabama.

There’s a whole lot of those to choose from. Once you are outside the cities it’s like going back in time

I would say southern FL or north Texas.  That being said I currently live in decent spot as the following lakes are just over an hour away:

Kentucky

Percy Priest

Old Hickory

They are not bad lakes, but IMO better lakes are to be had, two to three hours away.

I wouldnt move somewhere just for bass fishing. Having said that I’m an hour from Clearlake.

when I retire we plan on moving to Washington state.  Different bass, but I’ll adapt.

I bought my house based solely on proximity to boat launches hahahaha

Tough choice but I wouldn't mind living in central PA so I could fish for killer smallmouth and some historic trout streams.  Florida is another one but I haven't fished there much but the idea of a flats boat and sight fishing for a bunch of different species is super appealing.

I’d love to snow bird it one day between St. Clair and Central Florida.
