Luke Barnes Posted December 24, 2021 Posted December 24, 2021 As far as red cranks, I had a red craw Red Eye Shad and liked the look and lost it first outing. Bought another but havent thrown it. But..... I had my single best day fishing for small mouth throwing a red craw pattern squarebill on rip rap. Caught a few smallie, largie, and a channel cat haha. Quote

Funny, my first thought was the same thing but different reasons. It seems that there are days when the bass hit red, they smash red. But if it's not one of those days it's a guaranteed way to get skunked with no in between. So I rarely use a red crank. 1 Quote

SeaBizzkit Posted December 25, 2021 Posted December 25, 2021 Green pumpkin man. Just doesn't do it for the fish around me at all. Might have something to with that I'm river fishing but I don't know. Black and blue has been the go to but hoping goby flatworms can get some nice smallies next season. Quote

Another surprisingly color is june bug. That color just plain out DO NOT WORK in Wisconsin. I've heard of many anglers trying to make that color work for years but having no luck with it. I have smashed them on junebug many times, here in Wisconsin. Quote
leinad Posted December 27, 2021 Posted December 27, 2021 white and pink ,haven't caught many fish on white and not a single one on pink.dark to light in natural colors work the best for me ( black, greens, browns, dark blues ,with smokes being the lightest). Quote

WVU-SCPA Posted December 27, 2021 Posted December 27, 2021 Black and blue comes off the top of my head but that's only because I don't use it. I'm sure it works, but I started with the mindset of it's for dirty water and the lakes I fish most often are clear so I built confidence in other colors. Being colorblind is a blessing when it comes to the bait monkey. I don't buy all the hues, flecks, blah blah blah because I can't see the difference. Quote

I haven't giving it a go yet but thats like the number 1 hated color among the people I know. Normally I would think everyone telling me that is lying to me to keep it a secret lol but unfortunately I have fished with them and seen it myself. Small mouth wise it hasn't been too bad but largemouth wise, you're better off with green pumpkin. Quote
Cdn Angler Posted December 30, 2021 Posted December 30, 2021 I can catch bass on almost any colour of senko. I can catch bass on white coloured tubes, jigs, swimbaits, poppers and jerkbaits. But the white senko, for whatever reason, does not catch fish. Why? Only the bass know. Maybe a normal senko resembles in their pea brain an actual worm, leech, or insect, none of which are all-white. I have all some all white Rage Craws, but the white senko has thrown me off texas rigging them and I've only used them as a trailer. I'm not colourblind in that I can't see colour, but I see many colours incorrectly. So I'm often buying stuff that I think is orange, but is brown, that I think is dark green, but is orange etc. I'm sure it makes no difference. Quote
Super User bowhunter63 Posted December 30, 2021 Super User Posted December 30, 2021 Black and Blue. I can’t catch anything on it while everyone else kills on it . Quote
