Super User WRB Posted December 19, 2021 Super User Posted December 19, 2021 There is enough posts on soft plastic colors to keep you reading all winter. Tom 7 Quote
BlakeMolone Posted December 19, 2021 Posted December 19, 2021 Ragetail summer craw rage menace caught fish for me in all water clarities this year. I think I can just keep this color and maybe a pack of black and blue with me be covered in 99% of situations. Quote
Basser2021 Posted December 19, 2021 Posted December 19, 2021 I love black and blue. I can't not have it in my tackle box. 1 Quote
padlin Posted December 19, 2021 Posted December 19, 2021 In larger baits, like craws, green pumpkin, white, and chartreuse. For worms, black, watermelon, and a purple of some sort. I try and travel light, being in the canoe, and don't take but a couple colors other then these. 1 Quote
Super User Team9nine Posted December 19, 2021 Super User Posted December 19, 2021 Junebug - if I could only pick one though 'Bama Bug' is starting to become a little more common (a GP/Junebug mix - best of both worlds). 1 Quote
Super User DitchPanda Posted December 19, 2021 Super User Posted December 19, 2021 Junebug, white and green pumpkin are all I need. Sure I have countless others that I like and they work but they aren't must haves for me. Quote
Finessegenics Posted December 19, 2021 Posted December 19, 2021 Some baitfish color; like The Deal from ZMan, or Tennessee Shad, or pro blue red pearl. Green Pumpkin would be next followed by Chartreuse. If I could only stick with 3 those would be it. Quote
Super User LrgmouthShad Posted December 19, 2021 Super User Posted December 19, 2021 Favorite generic colors I've used are black, white, watermelon red, and watermelon candy. Not a fan of green pumpkin. But to try and put the bait monkey on some of you, here are some senko colors I'm interested in trying very soon :). Blue pearl silver flake, then pearl with small gold and large black flake, and watermelon smoke with purple and blue. These are all meant to imitate specific types of baitfish Edit: I forgot one important one. I used to be a huge fan of zoom's california 420 and I need to throw it more. It works. Try it in your favorite zoom plastic. 1 Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted December 19, 2021 Super User Posted December 19, 2021 Black/blue, junebug, watermelon candy, watermelon red, watermelon w/ gold flake, and black w/ red flake. I use certain colors for certain baits, but this usually rounds out the colors in my bag. Quote
Mr. Aquarium Posted December 19, 2021 Posted December 19, 2021 I always go dark. Dont know any names but blacks, browns, green pumpkins, watermelons, any variations of that. I mostly fish craw, creatures and tubes. I’m trying to mimic, craws, sunfish, perch and other bottom critters. Quote

I use both those colors quite a bit . Just started using Bama Bug this past summer and went through several bags quickly . Darker purples and their variants like Bama Bug , tequilla sunrise , june bug , electric blue ... have worked for me in many types of water . From deep clear Ozark reservoirs to shallow muddy ox-bows lakes . 1 Quote
Skunkmaster-k Posted December 19, 2021 Posted December 19, 2021 Purple is the best color for a plastic worm. 1 Quote
RDB Posted December 19, 2021 Posted December 19, 2021 I’ve started experimenting with some of the soft plastic paints, adding a few dots or stripes. I figure if it’s good enough for Bill Murphy, why not give it a try. The thought is that it adds contrast and also enhances the illusion of movement. 1 Quote
Super User king fisher Posted December 20, 2021 Super User Posted December 20, 2021 This is it for me. 1 Quote

Mbirdsley Posted December 22, 2021 Posted December 22, 2021 Black and blue chigger craw anything black and blue water melon pearl yum dingers summer craw with any type of plastic whether it’s a craw or worm has been a very good producer in the summer in clear water. berkly’s maxx scent baby bass color I can’t get straight green pumpkin to work up here in Michigan unless it is a tube. Seems like the green pumpkin has to be accented with another color to worm IE summer craw or 6th sense green pumpkin burst. Quote
Super User BrianMDTX Posted December 22, 2021 Super User Posted December 22, 2021 Senko #956. That’s my go-to. Quote
Luke Barnes Posted December 23, 2021 Posted December 23, 2021 This made me think because I did alot of experimenting this year and didn't go with my normal go to colors. After throwing my go to colors and experimenting I have new go to colors. Some stayed the same but some changed for sure. Now all I need is junebug, green pumpkin or any variation like blue craw by SK, and white. I dont throw white craws but I didnt throw any just craws on their own at all this year so that doesn't even really count. Quote
Super User Bird Posted December 23, 2021 Super User Posted December 23, 2021 PB&G , Junebug and watermelon red for Senko's.......I throw mostly Senko's. Lol Quote
