is 12lb Tatsu fine on a a tatula CT?  Will be mainly fishing for SM from shore.  Going to be using it with plastics, lighter spinnerbaits, etc.  Have no experience with Tatsu but interested in trying it out on the new reel....especially at 30% off

That should work great.  I have two spools loaded with 12-lb Tatsu, one Daiwa 1016, and the second a ZPI Alcance.

I fished 12-lb Abrazx for years on Lew's, and Red for a decade before that.

It's about as low a diameter as I'd go on a BC (other than a BFS reel)...but it should work fine

I do about 75% of my fishing with 12lb FC.  Tatsu is amazing line.  It should be fine for any smallmouth you encounter.   I typically fish for smallmouth on lite line, 6lb to 10lb with no issues.

Forgot to add its pretty much open water....not much cover.  And not too many beastly smallies.

Well I was going to recommend 15lb, as I feel that's an all-purpose line. But with this statement....12 lb should suite you well.

12 lb Tatsu or Shooter FC is the heaviest I use for bait casting reels outside of big Swimbaits.
