Super User Darth-Baiter Posted December 17, 2021 Super User Posted December 17, 2021 I haven't done the math, but out of maybe 12 packages (most of which are fishing related) I remember ONE PACKAGE getting to me without drama. ONE! the rest is a total dumpster fire. every Nocqua battery has been lost and found. I begged the lady to drop it off at UPS for me, on the last one. she laughed and said, "err..no" I even promised to UPS her some CA wine! (we are now talking friends). one out of 12 is sorry odds. I just ordered gifts for my fishing friends. I was so saddened when I got the shipping notice and realized it was FEDEX!! oh no!! sure enough. I check tracking. they said it would deliver on Monday the 20th. in time for Santa to drop off gifts. I get home yesterday (Thursday - 4 days early), and see the tell-tale postIT on my front door. yup. they attempted delivery. I turn the note over to sign it, to give them permission to just drop it off. NOPE..they scratched out that section and put a big SHARPIE "N/A". I have to be home. GET THIS. they said they will try to deliver it Monday. I bet dollars to donuts they try today, or Tuesday. it won't be MONDAY at all. I have a presentation to give today. I am doing it from home to meet the guy. but since I am home today..it might actually come Monday. hahahah.. 1 Quote
Super User MN Fisher Posted December 17, 2021 Super User Posted December 17, 2021 We've never had an issue with FedEx. Course, we actually filed a form with them that lets them drop-off without needing a signature even if the sender wants one...the local FedEx office just 'attaches' that signed form. No needing to stick around, never had a damaged package...no problems. Maybe it's your local office or just your delivery person. Quote
CrankFate Posted December 17, 2021 Posted December 17, 2021 I never had an issue with FedEx. Only with other carriers. Quote
Super User Jigfishn10 Posted December 17, 2021 Super User Posted December 17, 2021 I can honestly say that all the carriers that deliver to us are very good and very friendly as well. No complaints here. I think we’re (my family) very fortunate that they do what they do. Especially now, in this season and in this environment. Really sorry that you’re having a time of it. Hope it eventually works out for you. ? Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted December 17, 2021 Super User Posted December 17, 2021 I have had minor issues with all the major carriers but nothing drastic. Fed Ex is no better or worse than any of the others. USPS was bad for a while when they removed all the extra people or whatever it was around election time but since, it hasn't been that bad. Quote
Black Hawk Basser Posted December 17, 2021 Posted December 17, 2021 Fed Ex sucks. Last thing they were supposed to deliver to me, they brought to a vet clinic a half mile from my house. They said that their GPS system pinpointed my house there. SMH Quote
Super User bulldog1935 Posted December 17, 2021 Super User Posted December 17, 2021 (edited) Fed-Ex is the fastest delivery from Japan - when the post crashed last year and the vendors went scrambling, they added a nonstop route from Sennin-Shi to Memphis. They even clear Customs while in the air. Yesterday, Wed, received a package from Japan that was shipped on Monday - more than enough time for Christmas... Super User Darth-Baiter Posted December 17, 2021 Author Super User Posted December 17, 2021 I was in the middle of my presentation when the FedEX guy showed up. I excused myself mid sentence. I asked the guy, "I thought you were coming Monday?". and showed him the web notice. he laughed and asked, "so you want it or what?"....hat in hand, "yes please". (he wins) 1 Quote
Super User jbsoonerfan Posted December 18, 2021 Super User Posted December 18, 2021 LOL!!! I was on the FedEx "do not deliver to" list for a few days because I had some very choice words for a driver who left a box that contained 2 brand new Metaniums on the side of the road instead of driving the 1/4 mile down my driveway and putting them on my porch. Had to speak with FedEx security department to get it cleared up. 1 Quote

schplurg Posted December 22, 2021 Posted December 22, 2021 Saw a UPS truck parked down the street from my house tonight. As I drove closer a Fed-Ex truck parked across the street from it. I laughed for a moment and thought of this thread, thinking it would be funny if they started fighting each other in the street. Random weird thought of the day. 1 Quote
Super User jbsoonerfan Posted December 22, 2021 Super User Posted December 22, 2021 Our USPS driver is awesome. She gives our dog treats. We are on the very beginning of her route. She usually delivers between 8:30 - 9:00 everyday. Yesterday she delivered at 12:45 and said she had just started her route. She said she was put on "holiday hours" instead of given the opportunity of overtime. She told me her boss said her hours were 7-4 and it was her job to deliver till she was done. Needless to say, she was furious. This is why we are seeing the problems we are. It goes with all delivery services. Quote
NavyToad Posted December 22, 2021 Posted December 22, 2021 When I find out that FEDEX is delivering a package I say a prayer and cross my fingers. 2 Quote
Super User Hammer 4 Posted December 23, 2021 Super User Posted December 23, 2021 You guys might get a kick out of this. November 23rd. I ordered some magnesium gummies from GNC, which is about 17 miles from my home, the fedx hub is about 2 miles from gnc. I check the tracking, says it would be here on the 26th of Nov. The 26th comes, no package, I check the fedx tracking, now it says in transit. What? To make this short, they sent my package to the East Coast, first to CT. then to MA. 2 weeks later I finally get my Magnesium. Why they would send such a small package all the way across the US just baffles me, but leave up to fedx to do it. 1 1 Quote
schplurg Posted April 13, 2022 Posted April 13, 2022 I am now wondering if my window A/C will be here tonight, via FedEx. Had to find this thread I could see a more roundabout route being cheaper sometimes, I guess. But check this out... I ordered something from Walmart, I forget what. Well I can get free shipping for $35 order or more, so I looked up some small cheap jerkbaits they sell. I've been wanting them anyways. I ordered several different colors. Hey they catch fish! So comes time to checkout and they tell me the 8 items I ordered for a total of $37 will arrive in 6 different shipments on 6 different days! I'm like "How the flippin flip is this saving them money?" Jerkbaits are $2 each, some arrived 1 at a time! I'm sure they came from different locations, but forcing me to spend more seems to have cost them money this time. But that's not the end. One shipment I tracked from Texas to Arizona, then north toward me through Bakersfield....oh wait, they're at a FedEx facility in Montana now! And they should be here tonight in Cali. Not! Next day I get a notice - "your shipment is delayed". I already know, even your message is delayed! Haha Happened to multiple shipments all from guess who. I expect issues sometimes but wow. Anyways, after 6 days I check on my A/C with FedEx tracking: 04-06-2022 Shipment information sent to FedEx - 11:13 pm That's it. I emailed the seller and they answered promptly. Quote I'm sorry your tracking information has not updated yet! Upon reviewing your order, I can see that the package was shipped out of our fulfillment center. It is possible the item is already in transit but was scanned incorrectly through the carrier's distribution facility. At least it's been cold here so I don't need the A/C just yet. Can't wait to see what happens next! Quote

That's it! He's off my list this year for a Christmas card!! Quote
GTN-NY Posted April 13, 2022 Posted April 13, 2022 I’ve had boxes dented, ripped open but very seldom damaged except one time. UPS driver rang the bell to ask if he should bother leaving this box. 6’ box that took a right hand turn in the middle of it. Guess what it was 1 Quote
thunderblack Posted April 13, 2022 Posted April 13, 2022 I actually have pictures and a list of issues typed out I have had over the last 5 yrs with FedEx. I will never use their services again. The best one was leaving 2 grand in office chairs in the middle of our parking lot in a rain storm on a weekend when we do not receive deliveries at our office. Not a fan of bashing any company but I steer anyone away from using them. Quote
volzfan59 Posted April 13, 2022 Posted April 13, 2022 I've never had a problem with FedEx. I order a lot of stuff from Bass Pro and they use FedEx. Not one problem. 2 Quote

Super User jbsoonerfan Posted April 14, 2022 Super User Posted April 14, 2022 Since this thread was brought back to life. I have a large front yard on the south side of my driveway (house sits on North side). I have a large parking area(turn around area) about 30 yards west of my front door. Very easy to pull up there, back up and get back on driveway. It had rained that day and the driver stopped in front of my house, walked package to the porch and then proceeded to back up in the yard and leave ruts instead of using the parking area. I was in the bedroom at the time or I would have said something to him. Quote
