We used to use taillspinners quite often in late fall. The Mann's Little George was a popular bait in many areas.                     They can be a killer bait at certain times, but have two drawbacks. They hang up easily,  and because of they're design, fish throw them easily.                As part of the history of this bait, Tom Mann named it after governor George Wallace back in the 60s.

Make a long cast, let it drop, and snap the rod tip upward on the retrieve. We had most strikes on the fall.                                                       I haven't used one for a few years now. Are any members using a tailspinner these days?

Yes, I use tailspinners in Fall for smallmouth.  I use the Jackall Deracoup that I like better than the Mann's.  It seems to hang up less.

I made a line through tail spinner similar to Pedigo Spin Rite except used a Mini vinyl skirt worked great. Looks a lot like today’s Wing Ding.

I had a Little George when they first came. Best I can remember it didn't take long to get it hung up and lose it. This is the only tail spinner I ever had. I never bought another one.

We used to fish tailspins in deep water and yo-yo them just off of the bottom.  I haven't fished one in years.

What's old is new again.  It seems like quite a few companies came out with new tail spinners in the past year.

Same with bladebaits

Definitely.  Seemed like bladebaits were really trending a couple winters ago.  Every YTer had vid or 2 dedicated to them.  Vaults and Binksys were tough to get for a while.

This hack to a bit off Darksleeper catches me a lot of bass. I use them until they're completely chewed up. I've even been known to cut the tail off of a new one if I don't have any bite offs on hand.

The beauty of the Rinky Dink, Norman Knock Off, or Wing Ding is they are line through. The bass can't use the weight to throw the lure. When hung up it acts as a plug knocker.

Secret ?

Let the sucker sit on the bottom, the bass will pick it up!

Haven't fished on a long time but use to catch fish with them often. Just one of those baits that fell out of favor because they're not the hot new thing. I like the Wing Ding because it's a line through so it's harder for the fish to throw.

I've got a ton of KO Dark Sleepers that don't swim very well, or at all, might have just found a use for them.

I think Catts idea, with a line through is a good way to go. I remember losing fish because they easily threw the Little George.

I’ve never seen a line thru in the store but if I do, I’m getting it!
