Super User Tennessee Boy Posted December 11, 2021 Super User Posted December 11, 2021 It was a long night across several states in the south. Looks like Kentucky was hit hard with a lot of fatalities. Hope everyone on the forum is okay. 5 Quote
detroit1 Posted December 11, 2021 Posted December 11, 2021 I know exactly where Mayfield is. My grandparents and 3sets of aunts/uncles used to live there. They all have passed before the '90's though. Terrible storm, prayers to all affected... 1 Quote
Super User Tennessee Boy Posted December 11, 2021 Author Super User Posted December 11, 2021 I went to a wedding in Mayfield once. It was a very charming town. It will probably never be the same. They said the candle factory was the town’s biggest employer. Last number I heard was 60 still missing from the factory. Quote
Super User Bird Posted December 11, 2021 Super User Posted December 11, 2021 Watched drone footage from Mayfield, they definitely need prayer. 1 Quote
Super User J Francho Posted December 11, 2021 Super User Posted December 11, 2021 Very sad. I can't imagine the horror. My thoughts are with the victims' families today. 1 Quote
Super User BrianMDTX Posted December 11, 2021 Super User Posted December 11, 2021 I heard about this after I got up this morning. I told my wife “wow, that sounds like the Tri State Tornado from decades ago!” (1925). It was. This is the Quad State Tornado. Simply horrific and tragic. 1 Quote
Super User bowhunter63 Posted December 11, 2021 Super User Posted December 11, 2021 Prayers sent. What a tragedy 1 Quote

Super User Hammer 4 Posted December 12, 2021 Super User Posted December 12, 2021 Saw on the news that at least 100 people lost their lives last night. A true tragedy, Prayers go out to them and their loved ones. 1 Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted December 12, 2021 BassResource.com Administrator Posted December 12, 2021 Catastrophic loss of life and property. I hope everyone on the forums is ok. For those of you who attended the Kentucky Lake RoadTrip at Moors Resort, the tornado passed about 3/4 mi to the north of it. It sustained minor damage, but the nearby neighborhood of beautiful lakefront homes was wiped out....completely. They found a car in the lake. 1 Quote

Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted December 13, 2021 Global Moderator Posted December 13, 2021 Terrible, even worse to happen right during the holidays when everyone is suppose to be celebrating and enjoying family. I just drove through where a monster F5 ripped through about 30 minutes from our house a few years ago, the width and severity of the damage to the trees is hard to really comprehend. Thankfully that one hit mostly farmland (although the parents of a highschool friend did lose their house to it. He was there and even set out his Gopro right before it hit, pretty insane video). Can't imagine if it had gone through cities like this one did. 1 Quote
