Just to get some discussion brewing….

What are your strategies for drain the lake this year? With 9 elite events and the classic, there will be 10 tournaments so we’ll have to pick 80 unique anglers.

I had a bunch of free time the other day so I listed all the events by date and began adding anglers which I 100% wanted for certain events. For some of the events, I already have 6 or 7 names listed.

I'm going to extrapolate the strategy I used for the partial season last year:

Rather than go event-by-event, I went angler-by-angler and asked, "what event(s) would be my top choice(s) for this person"?  I then earmarked 8 "starters"  and a few "bench" anglers for each event based which anglers had that event as a top choice.

I then planned the whole (remaining) season at once, and saved a list, so I always know which event I was saving each angler for.  As each event came around, I adjusted things a bit here and there -- swapping between the starters and bench, or between different remaining events occasionally, but ended up entering most of the anglers I had earmarked ahead of time.

The classic is tricky because of the different roster, but you can also take advantage of that fact by including some anglers who aren't otherwise fishing the elite series, and save some regular elites for other events.

I haven't done any of this yet for 2022 though.

Is there no AOY Championship again in 2022? It’s not on the schedule.

I forget what my percentage was last year - but I placed 17th for the BR group.

Not too shabby for my first outing...

9 days until this season kicks off. Now is the time to seriously start researching and making those picks.

Research? What the heck is that?

I just pick people.  Seth of course - gotta support the home-town boy. Rest - roll some dice.

I'm still sitting with the picks I made soon as the system opened.

Glad you're playing again. We're up to 42 members so far!

I wanted to pick Sethy and a few others but I'm trying to be unbiased this year. I'm from Minnesota but don't sleep on the Wisconsin boys!

Been switching my picks in bucket A and E for a while now. So many good guys to pick in bucket A it’s hard to narrow down. I have 3-4 in mind.

Just bite the bullet and go with Seth.

I would have also had Austin (the other local boy), but he was in Group A with Seth.

Some say the schedule lines up better this year for Austin. Wouldn't be surprised if he does really well.

I’m partial to the Johnston brothers the way you are to Seth :). For bucket A it’s between them 3 and Drew Cook.

Speaking of Feider, I think he will go back to back on AOY. Who else has made an AOY prediction?

There are a lot of anglers who are consistent at the SJR. You won’t make a bad pick out of bucket A but everyone has a stinker every once in a while.

I'm not making a prediction, but it sure would be nice to see Seth lift that trophy again.

So I'm going with my gut. Switched my team up so many times that I don't actually remember what my gut was. 84-6 for my tiebreaker weight.

For some reason BASS doesn't want to let me direct clip my roster...so Win-7 Snipping Tool to the rescue.

I set my roster right when it first opened last month...and saw no reason to change it...even left my Tie breaker the same...we'll see how I do.

I will play along. I apologize ahead of time to any of the anglers I pick. If this goes like my Fantasy Football team, there are going to be an awful lot of injuries.

I had Zack Birge in my MLF roster and his batteries died yesterday morning. I'm telling you, it's bad to be on my team.
