shimano Posted December 6, 2021 Posted December 6, 2021 What color trout jig should I get for clear water? What size? I want to go fishing for stocked trout at Ralph b Clark park. Quote
Super User Solution ATA Posted December 6, 2021 Super User Solution Posted December 6, 2021 You need to bring few with you and try, color of jig itself at most six colors, Pink, black, white, silver, gold and chartruse. for the minnow also the same or combination of any two of them. here some I have here in tackle box beside me. Remember color is important but most important is presentation, For that use 1/32oz jig and 2lb test line for best presentation. This is my catch last night all by jigging and drop shot. 4 Quote

shimano Posted December 7, 2021 Author Posted December 7, 2021 d**n those are a great meal! Thanks for your help. I got some hawken trout traps 1/32 pearl glow. Not sure if you used them but they are 2 inches long including the tail so do you think they are a bit too big? 1 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted December 7, 2021 Global Moderator Posted December 7, 2021 They're stocked trout, don't make it more difficult than it needs to be. White, pink, yellow, and chartreuse are solid color choices. I like Turner Jones Micro jigs but I'm not sure you can still get them anywhere. Lindy Little Nipper jigs are a good cheap option. The trout magnets work well for a plastic choice. You can always tie a little hair on them also. 1 Quote

Thanks! What leader length do you find yourself using? Do you deadstick it or twitch it like fishing for bass? 1 Quote

They run up to the bank and shore where you could just use a 8 inch leader. Quote
