Good Evening Guys.
I recently purchased the following bait caster. I had a question about the type of line feature on the bait caster. I’m hoping maybe someone that has this bait caster could chime in. I am currently running braided line and have the setting on P for braid. Can I use the setting X (xtreme distance) while I have braided line on? Or should I just leave it on the P setting?  The manual is in Japanese so it’s kind of hard to figure out. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

@XtremeBass I have not tried that with my 21 Antares. Even though it has an mgl spool, I'm assuming the spool speed with the X setting will increase the likelihood of a braid lash...........especially with lighter casting braids. I'm not willing to try this as I fear a non-recoverable backlash would result. Even on PE mode with the settings set a bit too aggressively for a given scenario, will lead to frequent backlashes. I'm probably not the best person to ask. I only use DC reels to bomb nylon line from shore fishing scenarios to get to certain areas that no other stock reels can.

Nice reel. Is it IDC-5 or 4x8DC? The IDC-5 can bomb braid on any setting on my scorpion, haven't played 2ith a 4x8DC in a long time. Go get some cheap Berkley solutions braid and try it in the backyard, worst case scenario is ten bucks and some time wasted.
