Hi there,

I have a 10 foot inflatable and a 12 volt 32 pound thrust trolling motor.

My deep cycle battery is pretty good, but I was wondering about carrying a 30ah lithium battery strictly as an emergency backup.

They are much more affordable that 50ah, light and, as mentioned, only for peace of mind.

Thoughts?

Thanks

Thanks for the recommendation Tom. That looks like a good one. I take it you don't think the idea of a 30ah lithium battery as a back up isn't fundamentally flawed in some way.

I was looking at this one which is available to me with free shipping up here in Canada and seems to get mostly favorable reviews

Looks good. Having a “house” battery to run electronic or use as a backup 12V TM or night fishing LED  light system is good. Check on the charging needed.
