Sincere question - does acetone work on cured epoxy?

I've used it to remove cured marine epoxy from a boat.

If it's on the outside, the metal frame and not the insert, I'd leave it alone. If it's unsightly, you could attempt to remove it and possibly damage insert in the process.

I wouldn't use a razor, if you scratch into the paint or coating of the guide you are inviting rust (depending on guide material) and you definitely don't want to damage a insert.

You could try low heat (think warm, not hot) and hard plastic like a credit card. If that won't get it off I would suggest just ignoring it. If its inside the ring or you can't ignore it, return it.
