MidwestBassAttack Posted December 2, 2021 Posted December 2, 2021 Hey folks - Got a new rod in last week and there is a small amount of residual epoxy on the outer ring. Any insight as to best method to remove? Quote

jcjunior Posted December 2, 2021 Posted December 2, 2021 Just leave it. If it’s bothering you that much take a small razor and carefully pick it off Quote

papajoe222 Posted December 3, 2021 Posted December 3, 2021 If it's on the outside, the metal frame and not the insert, I'd leave it alone. If it's unsightly, you could attempt to remove it and possibly damage insert in the process. Quote
Lead Head Posted December 3, 2021 Posted December 3, 2021 I wouldn't use a razor, if you scratch into the paint or coating of the guide you are inviting rust (depending on guide material) and you definitely don't want to damage a insert. You could try low heat (think warm, not hot) and hard plastic like a credit card. If that won't get it off I would suggest just ignoring it. If its inside the ring or you can't ignore it, return it. 1 Quote
