fishinNWA Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 So its black Friday and I'm gonna purchase a Dobyns fury 703c rod(which are on sale for 103.99 at TW for anyone interested). I am gonna get a reel to go with the rod but not sure on which one. Any suggestions are welcome, 100 to 150$ thanks for your time! Quote
Super User MN Fisher Posted November 30, 2021 Super User Posted November 30, 2021 Diawa Fuego CT or Tatula CT - both solid reels. Other than the T-Wing system in the Tatula - the two are virtually identical...same frame, spool, brakes, main gears. 1 Quote
fishinNWA Posted November 30, 2021 Author Posted November 30, 2021 is the t-wing system worth the extra bucks? Quote
Super User MN Fisher Posted November 30, 2021 Super User Posted November 30, 2021 Some say yes, I'm happy with my two Fuegos...so I say no. Quote

Super User bulldog1935 Posted November 30, 2021 Super User Posted November 30, 2021 I certainly didn't buy Steez and Zillion 1000 reels because of the TW, but for the range of 34 mm aftermarket SV spools out there. The theory of the design produces less line friction coming off the spool, and it works fine even with the smallest braided line. vs. and the whole falling line guide idea is pretty neat - we haven't seen one of those in 100 years. 1 Quote
Super User Hammer 4 Posted November 30, 2021 Super User Posted November 30, 2021 I have the Fuego, the Tatula 100, 150, 200 and the 300 reels. I use the Fuego for froggin with straight braid. I don't use leaders so yeah, I like the T Wing. Quote
Super User Columbia Craw Posted November 30, 2021 Super User Posted November 30, 2021 I have two Tatula 100CT’s and both have performed great. That platform will balance perfectly with the 703. 1 Quote
