I'm sorting my jerkbaits and I noticed besides floating ,sinking and suspending there are some that are nose heavy or tail heavy when sinking or floating.didn't know if I should keep those seperate or just stick to the three catagories.

It's up to you but I would note which are nose down versus tail down because sometimes that is a trigger to getting more bites. The fact that you notice a difference shows your going to do well with jerk baits. Good observation.

I sort mine in a totally different way.

1.  Don't really care if I loose

2. Would hate to loose , but can afford to loose

3.  Cannot afford to loose it

4  Will cry if I loose it.

5. Bring with me but not for use, for fear of loosing.

6.  Must stay at home for fear of using when desperate. ( Vision 110)  I hate the Bait Monkey.

I usually just sort mine by mfg than by depth.  On the bottom side could be below the lip or the bottom side I’ll take a fine sharpie and write down according to the mfg what the jerk bait or crank bait dives to.  I can never remember what they dive to off the top of my head

Also next to each treble hook I put an x with fine sharpie.  The X in sharpie tells me that I have swapped hooks out to a better hook.

if a jerk bait doesn’t suspend it gets separated into the  a walleye or trout trolling lure box

I would go crazy as I have several baits that behave differently in different water temp.

I stick to depth of bait for ease of use.  The Plano flex has definitely changed the way I sort things now..

Much like Andy does - but I sort by float vs suspend/sink instead of silent/noisy.

I don’t have a lot of jerk baits, but I sort mine by color.

Just depth.  Jackall Rerange 110s, 6th Sense Provoke 106s, and SK KVD Deeps pretty well all act the same and if they don't I get out the suspenstrips, nail polish them to match the belly, and start trimming them down until I've got a little bit of nosed down suspending action.

Depth.  Same as crankbaits.  All I need to know is what box to pull out.  From there, I can find what I'm looking for.
