Three emergencies so far today, all broken poles. Thankfully we got our power back according to the wife.

They were saying on the radio this morning, this frontal condition is stronger than the one that sunk the Edmond Fitzgerald.

I'm Glad

Still super blustery here too.

And while the North, south & entire western parts of at least this town

(might be more not sure) are without power,

somehow we are still getting the juice.

Several trees down out back and widow makers everywhere,

nothing that's a  major problem though.

But I'll need to do some high leverage clean up at some point.

Not a fan of running the Stihl 290 in the winter, so I may wait a while.

Blowing like crazy across our field right now. I’m amazed our power hasn’t gone out yet. This is by far the windiest December I can remember in a long time around here. Glad I bought a new generator a couple weeks ago.

Well, between the crazy winds ( that are still blowing pretty good even this evening), and the even crazier warm temps we had the last couple days, any smaller lakes around here that had ice are once again ice free. Guess you could call that the first “ice out” of the year ?‍♂️.

Fish Catch Friday ~ Some Video

 Starting this one up today.

I’m hoping that reliving these moments might help

speed this long, hard water season along.

As well as prevent my brown bass mojo from freezing entirely.

First One was Toad ~

This one started off a most memorable fishing day.

Easily one of my favorites.

I'll briefly join you in winter wonderland from MD :).  I had planned to go fishing tomorrow... The boat is saying Yes, but the truck is saying No ?

...and I know this is a dusting for most of you, but you might recall hearing about drivers stuck on I-95 in VA for 24+ hours recently due to snow and ice...I need to travel about 50 miles thru that exact location to get to the lake I was planning on.  I don't risk my truck and boat with ice and snow combined with MD/NOVA drivers.

Cold, gusty, and snowy today.

Mercury's having a hard time getting up over zero.

Accumulating lake effect snow this evening will continue through Monday night.

Wind gusts of 20-30+ mph will result in blowing snow and potential whiteout conditions at times, especially within organized lake effect bands.

Windchill hovering around zero today. We’ve reached our high temperature for the day already at 14 and it’s downhill from here.

A little freezing drizzle over the weekend and blowing snow equals no school today, which will make 6poundbass happy once he comes out of hibernation in a few hours.

The attached garage is quite desirable up around here.

If for nothing else, for this very reason.

Most of my neighbors don't even park in their garages.  A couple of them only have a 1 car garage and I can understand the lack of space after you put a lawn mower, snow blower, trash bins, etc in there, but most of my neighbors have a 2 car garage and they STILL don't park in them.

The reason?  Their garages are full of CRAP to the point where they can't.  I can't quite figure that out.  Get rid of some stuff and use your garage for what its intended for.  My garage isn't heated (its fully insulated) so it can still can pretty cold in there when its below zero, but it beats the snot out of parking outside.

I've got a partial tuck-under...but how it's placed, I can't maneuver the truck to get it in. So the boat (formerly the canoe) is what's relegated to the garage.

Ya your use of the space is efficient.  What most of my neighbors do is hoard stuff and fail to get organized.

Happens here too and is the polar opposite of my very soul.

I don't do stored crap.

My garage is a double and also not heated just insulated.

It does catch some heat from the house.

Garage temps rarely dip below freezing (which would be sort of bad if it went on too long).

Besides a thermometer out there, I have a few bottles of water strategically positioned to help show the current temp status.

Either way the garage is kept neat & clean with plenty of shelf storage, a large box freezer and a workbench in the back.  There's a ton of gear stored in it but it's all totally organized & up out of the way until I need it.

And while it's a little tight, I have the Pro-V bass boat, motor & trailer

and the full sized GMC AT4 snuggled in there all year with just enough room to get into it on both sides.  btw - love the swing tongue trailer.

The Big Dog House out back (kennel) is split 60/40 and is where the all lawn maintenance, snow blower, dog sleds, bikes and a bunch of other deals are kept.

My garage has always been the same way. Get things off the ground.

I do use mine to store yard/garden tools and vehicle maintenance items (jack stands, fluids, grease gun, etc).

Long tools (shovels, rakes, etc) hang from a peg-board I have mounted on one side.

Smaller gardening supplies and vehicle items are on Rubbemaid shelving units.

Right now, I have another Rubbermaid shelf-unit in the back where I'm temporarily keeping items for the boat work.

Same here...Friday we had about 10" of snow, pretty much melted over the weekend....now the same temps as you. Crazy, huh/

Same, except far less snow.  I see about 2" accumulated on the deck, despite the whiteout conditions last night.
