Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted November 26, 2021 Global Moderator Posted November 26, 2021 Went to by BIL's house with the family and ate way too much before I came home to sleep for a couple hours so I could get a little rest for work. 2 Quote

Super User islandbass Posted November 26, 2021 Super User Posted November 26, 2021 It didnt start out as wife and I only but it ended up that way, kind of. Had a friends and their family over. Their two kids went home early because the older one had to work the next day. Our kids cut out early and went to their rooms. Then our friends left, leaving just my wife and me. I tell her to go upstairs and I went to clean everything thing up and I’d be up soon. I finish by 11:30 pm and decided to just sit on the couch for a few minutes to rest my back. I guess babysitting the brisket the day before took more out of me than I thought. I dozed off and woke up at 3:30am. What!? Dang. It only felt like five minutes. ? 2 1 Quote
Super User king fisher Posted November 27, 2021 Super User Posted November 27, 2021 Happy Thanks giving everyone. I got up at 4:00 AM and was planning on camping and fishing at my favorite big bass lake. My wife was visiting her daughter in the states, so I was going to fish for the whole weekend. My pedal drive system on my Hobie broke after fishing for ten minuets. I started to use my paddle, but after an hour fighting the wind I had to give up because my shoulder I recently had surgery on, was ok to cast, but paddling all day is another issue. I decided to pack up and come home. I did catch two small bass, so I didn't get skunked. I tore the drive unit apart today, and hope to get parts for it before Christmas. I still have hopes for a new PB before New Years. Not the best Thanksgiving, but at least I did get to bass fish, and I didn't have to shovel snow. 1 Quote
schplurg Posted November 27, 2021 Posted November 27, 2021 Visiting Mom and Sis in Salem, Oregon. I almost lost my Mom a few weeks ago to a massive heart attack. Now she's walking around the kitchen looking for her phone. Amazing. Very thankful. Quote

You would think they have a warranty on the drive Quote

They would be glad to sell me a new kayak though. Living south of the border isn't all margaritas, and double digit bass getting parts and tackle can be a huge hassle, and take for ever, the upside is there is double digit bass and margaritas. It averages out in the end. 1 Quote
