Casting rod for 7" Texas rigged worm

Down here in Florida, at any time, i could hook a giant Bass. Should i be using a Heavy action or Medium Heavy action? I have a 7' Heavy Loomis E6X Rod, right now. Would the Heavy action work okay or should i get a Medium Heavy?

IMO, a heavy is too “heavy” for a Texas rig. A MH/F is ideal.

I would get a Medium Heavy X-Fast/ Fast for a Worm Rod & use the Heavy for Jig-n-Craws.

I use a MHF for 10" unweighted ribbon tails when I visit.  Use 40# braid and cast back into the lily pads.  Not all Heavy powered rods are created equal.  I'd have to try it, but I have a feeling my 6'10" HF Quantum Tour Edition would handle that if I used at least 3/8 oz. total weight.  It bombs a 1/2 oz. jig with plastic.

MH/F for medium sized worms 7" with 3/16 - 1/4 oz weight. H/F for larger 10" worms with 5/16 - 3/4 oz weights and also for heavy cover work. I also use a M/F for light work. 5" worm shaky or jig head, light weight 1/16 - 1/8 oz Trig's.  Maybe it is overkill but it is how I like to roll for my worm/creature bait fishing.
