Went to the Chevron gas station tonight to fill up with diesel, the tank took a tick over 24 gals. at a cost of just over $ 124.00, which just erks me, but to top it off, the automatic shut off on the nozzle failed, I had about a quart or more of diesel come out of my overflow, and it poured all over the concrete. It was after hours and no one to complain to.

These petroleum prices have to stop, charging way higher prices due to shortage, or breakage is ridiculous. I'd go on, but that would go into political territory......:gun1:

I paid $3.09 a gallon to fill my boat yesterday here in Florida.  My little 75 four stroke Mercury can run all month on that.

The last time gas prices were consistently this high in the U.S. was 2014.

Not going to get into why.

Holiday travel will no doubt be affected.

Hope this is not the new norm.

You're paying $5 / gal  for diesel?   It's $3.49 here.  :Copy_of_icon_surprised:

Glad to see there's now a federal investigation into price gauging by the oil companies.  Oil is a commodity, and there doesn't seem to be any market reason for the price increases.

Gas is under $4 in my area, and we have the 3rd highest gas tax in the nation.

Hopefully this turns around in a year or there won’t be anything left

Unless you’re a market analyst, you probably should limit postings to fishing and grandkids.

Regular is running $3.19 here - I shop at my local Cub and for every $50 I spend there, I get $0.10 off a gallon at Holiday...the truck needs a fill now and I'll be paying $2.99 a gallon.

I saw on this morning’s news Regular was $4.99 a gallon. Granted, it’s been there for a couple of weeks now so it’s not really news. And my GMC’s 6.2 takes Premium ?

Sorry man...Have a great day

EDIT: I’m a bit curious how my post was considered political? All I did was agree to another members post which is still in this thread?

Sorry Glenn, I was trying to show deference to you and the moderators, that's why I didn't take the bait.

Whoever is responsible for this must hate California.

It probably has more to do with California being the most populous state and subsequently having more drivers. Just a guess, but more drivers buying more gas….

As for which state has highest gas taxes, California happens to be #1 in the nation.

Just glad I can fuel my vehicles and go fishing

My biggest concern is how people will heat their homes this winter. I'll be fine, I have a very fuel efficient car, but high gas/heating oil prices can be crippling to folks who barely make ends meet.

I installed a wood burning stove and all my neighbors have been getting free tree removal.

I use to be that way, until the wife's asthma got so bad that we can't use the fireplace...no matter how good your flue and draft are, there's always some smoke that gets into the house.

We're burning it all up in a Regency Wood Burning Stove.

No Fumes just hotness.

Ya - well it would need two things

1: Money to purchase and install

2: Place to put it - the house is only 850 FSF

I spent $69 yesterday to fill up two vehicles and my boat. Our gas is running about $2.94 - $3.15. I got it for $2.84 getting a 10 cents a gallon discount. I haven't noticed what diesel is right now.

I paid $3.49 for premium in Charlotte today. If I’d known about 30 min earlier that I was going to have to chase a paint base to South Carolina I would’ve saved about 20 cents a gallon.
