Super User ATA Posted November 19, 2021 Super User Posted November 19, 2021 Guys this propane tank weights 10lb and the fedex guy just throw it from behind the door. I just want to share. The tank looks good obviously but dropping off method for something heavy like this wasn't right. Note: This is a unlisted video and only you pleople can watch it and it is not for public, I dont want to make problem for the guy. 1 2 Quote

Super User slonezp Posted November 19, 2021 Super User Posted November 19, 2021 I ordered (4) electric motors for a customer at $250. a pop. The shipper packed all 4 motors in a single box with corrugated packing material. FedEx delivered them yesterday. The shaft of one of the motors was bent as well as the mounting studs on the other 3. All garbage. Do you realize how hard an impact the box must have taken to bend a solid 1/2" motor shaft in packing material? It's not the first time I have received damaged goods from FedEx. Knock on wood, I have NEVER received damaged goods from the UPS guy and I get deliveries daily. 1 Quote

Super User Hammer 4 Posted November 19, 2021 Super User Posted November 19, 2021 I hate fedx, every package they have delivered has been either tossed over out porch gate, or left next to our yard gate, which anyone could reach over and take it. UPS on the other hand always brings the package up on our porch and SETS it down. We keep our yard gate locked to prevent anyone from wandering in. 2 Quote
Skunkmaster-k Posted November 19, 2021 Posted November 19, 2021 I had a fedex guy flip me off as he sped around me with his fancy little man-bun and handlebar mustache. That company is terrible ? 1 1 Quote
Super User J Francho Posted November 19, 2021 Super User Posted November 19, 2021 That's pretty bad. I guess I'm lucky, my FedEx, UPS, and USPS people are all friendly, careful people. Even the rando Amazon delivery people are good. I did get a crushed rod tube for the first time this past summer. For the most part, I don't get these issues. 3 Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted November 19, 2021 Super User Posted November 19, 2021 My wife and I are big time on line shoppers and get 'something' a few times every week. Sometimes more. Like the rest of the planet, this area is 'growing', however it's still a relatively 'small community'. One benefit of that may be that 'everybody sort of knows everybody'. Our mail carrier, UPS delivery person & even the FedEx humans have been the same 5 or 6 people for several years. My dogs are in their vehicles when they stop out front to get a 'treat'. If something like the OP happened here, it would get personal pretty fast. The local building for all three are 'right in town', just a few miles away. Can't see that going on though. Plus I prefer to smother those folks with kindness every chance I get. A smile & a kind word goes a long way. #goldenrule A-Jay 4 Quote
Super User MN Fisher Posted November 19, 2021 Super User Posted November 19, 2021 I've never had issues like that from any of my delivery people. USPS - I've known my carrier for 25 years, Kathy is always courteous and careful with packages. FedEx Air - Belinda and I have been friendly-acquaintances for 15 years...we chat when we bump into each other around town...she also bass fishes with her husband when off-duty, so she 'knows' how to handle gear. FedEx regular - don't personally know the guy, but he's always careful UPS - Matt is another friendly-acquaintance going on 10 years now. Amazon - only 'gripe' I have is occasionally they deliver to the side door instead of the front door, otherwise no complaints. 3 Quote
Super User Jigfishn10 Posted November 19, 2021 Super User Posted November 19, 2021 Well, unfortunately, most every organization has a couple of bad apples. I will say that I can't thank those folks enough for working thru the pandemic like they did, delivering essential packages that I/we (family) needed. 6 Quote

I'm sure Fed-Ex would appreciate it too, as well as anyone else receiving deliveries from them. 1 Quote

desmobob Posted November 20, 2021 Posted November 20, 2021 In my experience, it's more about the individual delivery employee than which carrier it is. For years, I had excellent USPS, FedEx and UPS delivery folks. All of them. The last couple of years, not so much. I had a new four-piece rod arriving Wednesday and I was going to be away. The new UPS guy leaves my parcels on the ground at the end of my driveway where it's only a matter of time before something gets stolen. So, I contacted UPS and paid an additional $5.99 to have the package re-routed to the local UPS Access/Hold point. The morning of the scheduled delivery, I got the usual "your package is arriving today" e-mail from UPS that also showed confirmation of the Access/Hold re-route order. I got home that evening and went to the Access/Hold location and the package wasn't there and they hadn't seen it. UPS tracking showed it was delivered there. It wasn't. 1 Quote

Super User Bird Posted November 20, 2021 Super User Posted November 20, 2021 Thanks for the video. Definitely shows a lack of work ethic and disrespectful to boot. As others have mentioned, have not experienced that type of behavior locally. What we do experience which can be irritating is that the delivery agency's will drop off packages at the wife's office rather than drive up the mountain and deliver to proper address. They've become accustomed to the the last name on package and will simply take a short cut and drop at her office rather than take the trip up to our residence. Not that big of a deal except when the wife can't lift a heavy item, I have to drive to her office and take it apon myself to receive item. Complaints have done nothing. 1 Quote
