brgbassmaster Posted November 18, 2021 Posted November 18, 2021 Winterized the boat officially but still have some river fishing to do in the yak. This isnt even close to all the pics I have this season but it sure was a heck of a 1st season in ND/MN. New pb channel cats! I caught my new PB northern at 10.3lbs, my buddy Andrew caught his pb northern at 38" didn't get a weight. I caught my PB crappie at 15" 1lb 10oz. Idk how many largemouth over 4/5lbs and countless smallmouth over 4/5lbs. Daughter caught a lot of bass on her own this summer which was amazing to watch her do. The best baits this year for largemouth were in order a whopper plopper 130, Frog, jig, 10" worm and a punch rig. Smallmouth top baits in order were also whopper plopper 130 or 110 were a tie. Keitech or scheels swimbaits in a perch color or sexy shad, tube, ned rig, spook and jig. Hopefully next summer is amazing as this one. Fished all new lakes this year being that it was my first season up here and it was a successful one. Very blessed to have been able to get up here and fish as much as I have. 20 Quote

Super User gim Posted November 19, 2021 Super User Posted November 19, 2021 I recognize the rock island in the back ground of one of those with the smallmouth. But I won’t say publicly where that spot is. ? I’d like to see that 15 inch crappie! I’ve tried for years to catch a slab that big every spring without success. 1 Quote

Those cats came outta the Red River of the north. Trophy channel cat river. I am fortunate to live 10 min from it. 9 hours ago, gimruis said: I recognize the rock island in the back ground of one of those with the smallmouth. But I won’t say publicly where that spot is. ? bigspirit Posted November 20, 2021 Posted November 20, 2021 Nice! Just moved back to the south after 2 years up in northern Iowa. I’ll miss the smallmouth up there but sure as heck won’t miss 5 months of winter! Especially only being able to ice fish for a few of them! Quote
