Pretty simple..is there a soft plastic color that you picked up and didn't have high hopes for that really impressed you? For me its been a mudbug color z man trd. I picked up a pack as an experiment and when I got them I was a little unimpressed. Its basically a dark cinnamon brown back with a light cinnamon pearl belly with copper flake...kinda blah looking honestly. But thankfully the fish don't  agree and they chomp it. What about you?

Sapphire blue

Not sure what it is about that bright blue but it just flat out catches fish, and not just soft plastics either.

Back in the early 70s my father-in-law at the time went down to Lake Guerrero & returned with several sacks of Fire & Ice worms. Everyone had a hardy laugh until he tied em on.

Strike King Rage Craw in Watermelon Meat ~

Got a (mistake) pack mixed in with a bunch of Green Pumpkin I ordered.

Gave it a shot and it produced.

Of course they probably all do.

Picture isn't really how I see it in my hand or in the water.

Not magic but I've had some good times fishing it.

Besides, I like saying "They're on The Meat".

I’d have to say bubblegum ( pink) . Caught a 7 3/4 pounder on a fluke with this color.

Orange senkos worked well too.

I have also done well with blue worms, when Ive used them, which isnt much…

I have caught multitudes of bass on a blue berry jelly worm and still throw them a lot .  They use to be a staple color like pumpkin is today . I dont get why  anglers stopped using them but thats okay with me .

Maybe because they dont seem to be on the shelf much. Im going to look for some next time.

I forgot one: A black and white polka dotted creme worm we used in the 70s.

Do you find that to be a color for stained/dirty water, or do you throw it everywhere?

I've seen your blue bladed jig sticking out of more than a few mouths on here.

You can get that color on Zoom Trick Worm. I also have some Fish Stalker brand.

Way back in the 60’s we had a local Tackle Shop in Burbank, Bunkers, that stocked Smitty’s soft plastic Critter twin tail grubs. Colors were off the charts; lime green chartreuse tails, bright Orange peel with red flakes and root beer with yellow tails. I asked what are these used for? Bunker said Calico bass. I bought a bag of the orange and caught my PB Calico the 1st trip. Who knew?

Smitty started to offer hand poured worms for fresh water and his brown with bright orange belly was fantastic. This was back when solid black, brown and purple was all we had use. Bright orange was a shocking color back in the 60’s.

Of course, Bubblegum and other crazy colors seems to be the most obvious answer.  I fish them and have had a lot of success with them, BUT, the answer for me might seem strange.  Green Pumpkin.  For years I convinced myself that GP would not work in the waters I fished because the bait was the exact same color as the water.  You guys finally talked me into trying GP.  Whooo, was I wrong.

Solid black/ orange fire tail. An older angler told me to try it in clear water , and it worked. Grape/ orange tail can be good at times  also.

All water clarity but it shines in stained water, especially when there's a greenish tint like when there's algae blooms in the heat of the summer.

Shad colors on a shakyhead.  Z-Man's The Deal in particular.  I try to keep it simple, favoring green pumpkins, water melons, and black/blue variants.  A buddy of mine proceeded to catch a 20+ pound sack, 101", in a tournament I fished this year with a Z-Man Fattyz in The Deal, and that worm in particular has probably caught 50% of my fish this year.

Coppertreuse (sp?) Hula Stick. Don't know if it's the color or the tentacles but I've had really good luck with them the last couple of times I've been out.

I seldom catch anything on green pumpkin or gp variations. Don't know why. That flash of chartreuse is what they want around here, I guess.
