Super User SoFlaBassAddict Posted March 11, 2010 Super User Posted March 11, 2010 (start rant) I swear...I've been searching for a boat for a few months now, but can't find anything that I'm really interested in. I found one a few weeks ago that was really promising, and it was sold in about 15 minutes after it showed up on Craigslist. Plenty of boats for sale, but nothing that I'm really looking for. How hard is it to find a jon thats wider than 32" at the bottom thats used and in decent shape. I just can't imagine that a 32" boat will be remotely stable with either me standing, or my two daughters and I in it. I'm sure something will eventually pop up, but damnit this is starting to frustrate me. (end rant) Quote
Radical Conservative Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 Keep at it. Try major cities within a few hours from you. I ended up drivin' 4 hours to pick mine up. Obviously, March ain't the best time to find one. Lot of buyers, not as many sellers. More boats will be for sale in the Fall, after the season. Keep checkin'. Quote

mossyoak Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 What kind of boat are you specifically looking for ? Quote
steezy Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 I feel your pain, Ive been looking for a good used boat for a month and Im in a major city (Dallas), Ive found a lot of junk or when I do find a decent boat theres an issue with taking in on the water prior to the sale or the title is not available yet. I found a nice boat at a dealer but now Im getting jerked around by the sales staff so Im not sure if that boat is worth it. Just keep looking, there has to be a good boat out there somewhere! Quote
Super User SoFlaBassAddict Posted March 14, 2010 Author Super User Posted March 14, 2010 What kind of boat are you specifically looking for ? Ideally a 12'-14' wide bottom jon. I may just end up buying it new. I really don't want to spend that much between the freight and new boat price plus the stuff I want to add to it. I'd buy a smaller bass boat, except my d**n association doesn't allow trailers and my garage is only about 20' deep from door to wall. Quote

I'm sure there is, I'm just getting impatient. I won't buy something unless I think it'll fit what I want though. I've found several potentials, so who knows... Quote
Super User new2BC4bass Posted March 14, 2010 Super User Posted March 14, 2010 I don't remember what it is called, but when I visit Florida I fish in a boat that looks like a canoe but is square on one end for an electric motor (we paddle). Narrow. Not comfortable because it is narrow. Tipsy. Bright side is we are on the water instead of shore! ;D Use to have an older 15 foot aluminum that was almost as wide as it was long. LOL. Tough to row that sucker (which I seldom had to thankfully), but 3 adults fished out of it with no problem. Could shift position occasionally without upsetting the applecart...er boat. Now that I have gotten back into fishing, a small boat is one of my priorities. Will sometimes have my 2 grandsons with me. Basically I'm in the same boat as you are. Excuse the little play on words. Could have said 'fix', but didn't want the dope patrol breathing down my neck. Anyway I would be very interested in what you finally find. Got to be a better selection in Florida than in Pennsylvania. Could always drop me a PM. Thanks. Quote
